Can we have Solaris 10 ISOs for x86 on DVD sometime?

Solaris is currently the most advanced Unix, and to have it for free (Free as in speech - OpenSolaris, and free as in Beer) is too good an offer to pass.

It has features (DTrace) that would be extremely useful to developers, and of course System Administrators would love to have their hands on a copy since Solaris Adminstrators seem to command a good salary.

If you are wondering whether magazines can distribute Solaris, well one magazine (Australian Personal Computer) has already distributed it. Sun's Solaris Engineer, Alan Hargreaves has blogged about this at:

hi good work happy to see DVD and CD having diffrent contents

Today's morning I called BlueDart (I know their staff personally) & I found out that Digit send by some other couriar service, I don't know which one. But they didn't find my address & return back the issue to digit office. The Address is correct. Give me the name of couriar service so I personally meet them for future shipment. please send my magazine now.

I am very unhappy about digit! I called so many times and sent so many emails that I received a damaged DVD and they never replied or sent me a new one!

it was nice to c that cd contents wr different from that of dvd... the animated movies on spiderman and batman were also funny.. but the small desktop themes which were included were useless.. i wud like to request for some cool winamp skins and plugins and also for good mp3 .. which used to be an integral part of digit earlier..

The magazine is OK. But the paper quality has gone down and the CD and DVD has some scratches. I dont think that Fast Forward book on MS Office is worth it because a 194 page book cannot explain everything what a 1000+ page book can, and the next Fast Forward is going to be Internet, I dont think we need a book for that do we? We all know about the internet and you are using it right now while we are reading it right? Regarding Security? I think everyone knows that they need to be careful....

The Price is also Rs.125/- which is a bit high I think. Its not worth Rs.125//

Yes, its for users who'd like to have Opera with Java (15MB size). Opera 8.0.1(Without Java) is out and I think its only around 3-4 MB which shouldnt be a problem downloading even for 56Kbps modem users. Plus Opera 8.0 was on June CD.
