The pic is a rendering since you can't tell. The gps is out in japan so it's new to the US

the gps has been out in japan for about a year. atm the only software you can get for it is for japan. you can however use it with google maps if you have custom firmware.

The PlayStation branded headset is meh looking, but the PSP GPS stuff is really nice. I'll be picking up both.

Gotta agree with you Carl. Sounds like a great headset and all, but I got a Vodaphone head set that does the job I want it too - so I don't really wan't to shell out another 49.99 for this. However the Socom bundle does sound promising, If I find an interest in this game I might pick it up then.

Hmm...Pretty cool. But I wouldn't buy it. i already have a Sony Ericsson (however you spell it), and it works perfectly fine.

Besides, it's a bit of a rip off.

Can you explain more: are you receiving stereo in you S9?
I have one but only use it as you would a standard TB headset. Hear chat only, still have game music/sounds output through stereo.

Can I use S9 as my game audio?
Then use my RockBand mic for chat?

Also would like to use S9 for RockBand output late night playing.

headset looks awesome...GPS looks interesting i might consider picking it up....but the headset with the confrontation seems like a steal...$49.99 for the standalone....$59.99 for the confrontation bundle....i mean i have the jabra that came with warhawk but it might be time for an upgrade

I already have a sony ericsson headset and it works perfectly. I'm more excited for the psp gps system for travel and business trips.

I use my motorola s9 set up to the tv and use my old socom mic around my neck i use it for the mic and the s9 for the game sounds and people talking it works the best and i get the mute fuction which is great

Haha yeah. It sounds too good to be true. I hope that is the deal though. I like the mute button. Does that mute the mic and speaker? Or just the speaker? I would like it to mute the mic because I only want to hear other people say stuff and not them hear my business that I do while I play... In-Game XXXMB .

Actually I just saw under the pic that it is bluetooth enabled. This is excellent news and I don't know how I missed it. I think Sony is heading in the right direction and with their Blu-ray win everything else now is full speed ahead. Still wouldn't dismiss MS too quickly but right now Sony is in the driver's seat.

It looks cool but I'm more of a wired kinda guy you never need to recharge your usb headset but it would be nice to see a lighter wired headset cause sometimes it get's a bit heavy, I Might get it just to see if it's any good or just wait for the reviews on it

If this is true, it would definitely be nice to have a headset with a big mute button. I hate having to one-hand the controller to cover the mic with the other hand any time I want to say something

no the bundle price. Warhawk was the same thing getting the headset for like $20 more than the psn title. But no the jabra does not have mute.

It will mute your voice. You can't beat that price ($10). Hopefully everyone will use the mute button so we don't have to listen to all these idiots that like to have phone conversations while they play.

I'll pass until they release headphones (both ears) with a mic. I just can't give up surround sound, especially with games like CoD4 where you can hear where enemies are coming from...

Well you could always crank up the volume of the headset and keep it loose from your ear so you can ear the sound from your speakers and the headset, of course it wil feel a bit odd at first.But if it seriously has a mute button as shown this is a must buy. and SOCOM was already a must buy. so This deal is a Double must buy. I must buy this! lol

i have never had a problem hearing my surround sound with a mic on. And Stereo headphones are pointless then you will really give up your surround sound

Looks sweet i have a headset but im considering getting it, im tired of syncing it with my cell and PS3 alternately, i would prefer just to have one for my cell and one for my PS3 so this would be a great opportunity for me.

Does anyone have this? And how is it? I looked on amazon and stuff, but I still dont see any reviews. And can anyone recommend me to a HEADSET ( not the one that goes around your ear like a cellphone Bluetooth, but something like the cordless vantage, that has wireless, and is nice?)

I will be surprised if it comes out being just like in the pic just it looks really cheap in terms of the rendering they used (lighting is very amateurish) the other thing is that Sony usua;;y do actual product shots not renders that said if it is true then awesome and why did Sony put such an average product shot out.

Looks like a pretty sweet headset. What's wrong with other headsets though? Why does everyone want a "SONY PS3" headset. I had a motorola that worked great until I just recently bought the Warhawk bundle. The Jabra in that pack works pretty well too.

Thats sweet. Its about time they came out with something like this. I think I might have to buy this. Ive been using my cell phone blue tooth mic but its annoying having to move it back and forth from my car to my house. And this has a charging station which is awesome. The price is a good price. I didnt expect any lower. Im sure its a quality mic.

And the psp gps is awesome. I might have to finally pick up a psp now. I have a nav in my car that came with the car, I can pick this up for when I drive the wife's car.

I mean if this headset works better than the rest on the market...which it should, has a docking station and is "sony PS3" branded I really do not see $50 bucks as too much money.

How much is the official 360 unit? Thats right it is $59.99 so again not really that bad.

The headset is certainly a rendering however I am sure it is legit and I am sure it will come packed in with Socom (makes sense).
Hopefully it comes out sooner than July as I want to pick up a headset now just that I do not like any of the units on the market.

This doesn't look very real(the mic). It looks like one of those renders that a fan comes up with and uses to dupe people. If it's this close to coming out, wouldn't they have an actual unit to show a picture of?

yes it is real my friend works for a game distributor and he sent it to me. It was a power point presentation, so that is why the pics look so bad i had to copy and paste them.

But talking to him he got it from his sony rep.

The PS3 headset image is a "buisness model" that's why it's rendered and not in-scale. But I still believe that they will change som parts of the design since it doesen't go along with the PS3 design. I also think it would be great if it would come in the exact same colour as the black PS3. That'd be sexyyyy

I like the huge mute button on that headset. I have a cheapy jabra that works fine but I don't use it in COD4 most games because of the open mic and lack of mute. Also when I play late at night I wear headphones so I don't wake people up.

Not really interested in headset for PS3.
I was hopping a headset for PSP.

The problem I have is a) you don't actually have a reliable source you can prove - "a friend" is not a reliable source, b) the headset doesn't look rendered, it looks like a crap Photoshop, c) the presentation "looks" official, but carries no more than the information about the products - there's no official cover slide, etc. It may be true, man, but I'm calling BS for now.


P.S - Vinyl? The BT135 Jabra is a nice little headset. It fits in my medium sized ears nicely, has no echo issues, set up is pretty simple, and I've used it with no problems in Warhawk, Motorstorm and Burnout Paradise. I would reccomend it if you find it in the WH bundle. I did, and paid $100 NZD (about $65-70 USD)

I think the jabra headset works great. Easy pairing, clear sound quality, easy to reconnect once paired. It works great. I don't understand why everyone wants to have the PS3 logo on a headset though...
