Help finding DVB T device for my Laptop

Hi all,

Ultra Newbie at this so looking for some clear an 3E38 d straight forward answers

I'm looking for a good DVB-T USB stick/PCMIA card that has a built in Antenna "if possibe", reason being it will be connected to my Laptop which isn't in any fixed location in my home.

Is it possible to get one that can pick up HD feeds?

That's about it relly, I do have Sky Digital so I may also consider a DVB-S one but from reading I would need to connect this up everytime and ideally I want it to be Wireless.

Thanks, Chris.

Unless you're in a very strong Freeview signal area, don't expect decent results using an internal antenna.
Then have a trawl of the folowing forum section :

I have used this for quite a while and found it to be very good. Unfortunately you are very unlikely to get good freeview from the supplied antenna although when connected to a roof aerial via a wall plate it is lovely!

Thanks for the replies. Never knew there was a specific forum for this so thanks Chris .

Here's the deal, I actually do have wall aerial sockets in every room in my house as one of the previous owners was obviously into his Home Entertainment

The downside is that I cannot pick up a Digital signal for some unknown reason . It doesn't affect me as I have Sky+ downstairs and a Standard sky box upstairs (both digital) running from the same satellite dish so receive all my TV through satellite and not Terrestrial. Everyone else on my street can pick up Terrestrial so I think there is a problem with the Aerial Antenna on the roof.

I use one of these - sadly now out of stock - can't be bad for ?12.48 delivered! But you may find elsewhere.

It seems neither more nor less sensitive than my set-top boxes. The little stick ae provided does not work now, but may well do so after changeover with vastly stronger signals.

I wonder if the sockets in your rooms might be for VHF radio? Do they get analogue TV?
