I'm not going to reply to your second paragraph 'cause that's just spin spin spin spin spin. Typical Sony fanboyish spin on the situation for the Wii right now. Is it that hard to be a man and admit that the Wii is selling great? Do you cry yourself to sleep when you see the numbers? Why do think every single media out there is saying that the Wii is selling great right now? I'm sorry but jeesh! Face reality. At least Wii games have legs and has the power to stay on the charts compare to PS3 games. What PS3 games has stayed in the top 20 for multiple months? I actually beleive it's zero.

Since when did we start using "console only charts"? I guess only when it makes Wii look like better. Anyway, games below the real top 20 aren't of any great significance.

If TGS and it's games does not drive up 360 sales drasticly it is over for 360. You start selling a consoles in the hundreds per week less than two years on the market then it's time to stop trying.

It doesn't matter what YOU think. What matter is the fact that Wii Software is doing great, not 360 great, but a heck lot better than the PS3 anyway. The Wii had in August NPD 7 titles in the top 20 console only list. The 360 had 6 while the PS3 only 1 title.
Also, the reason why the Wii is decreasing in Japan right now is because of no new games + this is the slowest period in Japan, hence all the systems going down in Hardware sales. If you hope the Wii will continue the decrease down to PS3 levels you're in for a huge disappointment. The Wiis that are right now available in Japan are going to get sold later this year anyway, when Galaxy, Smash Brawl and Wii-Fit releases.

School is in session...sales will be low until the holidays.
PS3 is still staying comparitavely high despite the across-the-board drops though.

I'm very happy about what Nintendo is doing -- which is offering choices. There will still be big, epic, games. There will also be other games.
I think they pretty much nailed it. The market, in general, seems to agree.

The scary thing about the Wii is that is selling 400k monthly in the US. Oh well eventually it will slow down.

Nothing seems to be selling very well in Japan right now; even the DS sales seem a little weak! And the Japanese aren't even bothering with the next generation consoles (perhaps the Wii is starting to feel a little gimmicky? At least I never thought of it as anything else, even after playing it. Maybe TGS will help turn around PS3’s and 360’s fortunes!)

...hmmm, sometimes i wonder why so many people seems to have bad taste in games. we all know the best games are on PS3 and 360. wii have alot of fun mini-games but nothing great. everything for the wii is dumbed down for newbies. as an old school hardcore gamer, i really feel insulted with what nintendo have done with the wii.

So basically you wonder why people don't like exactly the same type of games you like? Cause, you know, "bad taste" is kind of an individual perception.
mgillespie - you do know that it is impossible for any console's sales to fall by more than 100% right? Because if that were the case they'd have to actually decrease their total sales from the previous week (in other words sell a negative number of consoles) I believe you meant "50%." Interesting fact by the way, this week the PS3 decreased in sales by a larger percentage than the Wii did.
