I'm almost done with the design. I was just wondering how fast does the frontpage load. If there is a problem with the frontpage loading can someone helpm me out with slicing the images.

it takes a while... it shows your layout and then begins filling in all those images you have! You have quite a few images there. You will need to either reduce the amount of images or, optimize them!

Hm, I have a cable modem (3.9Mbps) and it took less than 5 seconds to download. It was great in my opinion.

I know you haven't asked for observations but I'm being particularly helpful today and checked your webpage in three different browsers. There are no major differences at all, except this:

Your "Sign Up" button and text box is aligned center in IE but the alignment is lost in Firefox and Netscape. In your orange left column, there's a white border around your "Sign Up!" button and textbox for the ?Just enter your email? section.

Its not much at all, but browser discrepancies piss me off and I’m always trying to avoid them.

Thank you ico. I think im going to lower the resolution of the images and slice some more images just to make sure even the dialup people can still load the site

Eh, personally I'm in favor of not crapping up the images some more but that’s your call. Keep in mind that poor image quality ruins the integrity of a site, I’d suggest losing some of your gradients as they’re most likely contributing to the high load, solid colors load a lot faster after all. Try blurring your jpgs to reduce image size.

Slow. Took roughly 3 minutes to download on my 28.8k-equivalent.

When you say gradients are you refering to the left hand side of the site where the menues are?

Try it again i made all the images smaller.

61 seg (GPRS connection which is equivalent to a 56k modem). Considering that the page has 39 images and 12 tables, pretty good.

Most of the page was visible in 40 sec, though.

My feeling is that, coded properly, it could download much faster. I think there is an abuse of images here, apart of using transparent images to separate content (and deprecated tags...)

Took 30 sec at 45+k. Many of the images could be done as text to speed things up. BTW the rollover tabs are unreadable - too washed out.

What would be an example of a rollover tab?

Fast on broadband (obviously), but the image quality is getting too crappy. I think you might be better off reducing the number of images rather than the quality.

Your site could fit into this layout, you'd need minor modifications though, I'd imagine defining a width and setting the margin to auto to center the document in the browser window. However I dont know if it'd work because I've yet to implement my own design with that example, I'm giving it a shot today.

My advice would be worthless if you don't know much about CSS, if you dont, I really recommend you look into it, you wouldn't have to deal with the problems you're having right now.
