ps3 speaker system on budget

is there anyway of buyin a speaker system on the cheap. and connecting it through optical output. not through an amp or anything. i am a student and cant afford a more expensive system right now! anybody got any speakers they are using?

I am using the Panasonic Home Cenima made for my TV it's great you can get it for about £250 if you do price mach and use some voucher codes!

is that being put out through the optical on your ps3 or through ur lcd
