It won't dissapoint at all, parents will buy this game because they think its kiddy and probably end up playing it themselves, teenagers and up will buy it for the creativity and extra content.

For me, for the kids i think in some families it will work out that it will be like lego, where the dad or grandad or something came over, saw and decided to help and they'll both end up building a huge level they will have fun in.

The problem is how they're going to market it... what the adds will look like. The game captured the imagination of countless people in the industry or who know a lot about games but I don't know if it will appeal to the general public.

Personally, I think it'll do very well. I'm almost in my mid 20's (23 to be exact) and I find LBP very interesting . It's different, innovative, and well super easy to play.

It has 50 pre-made leves that are involved with the story. You know like how any other game has premade leves involved with the story...? Without levels it would just be an animated movie. It has a wicked extra cherry ontop with its level creator. You're mixing your personal preference as a fact to dis-credit LBP.

You're not getting what I'm saying. If you buy it for the 50 pre-made levels the game is pretty much nothing more than a run of the mill platformer. If you buy it for that reason there is really nothing special about the game; the thing that has people excited is the level building, thats the originality factor. Without it it's nothing special. Get what I'm saying?

Well then why pay for a run of the mill platformer that comes with 50 levels? Outside of the fact that you build your own levels there is no originality, so really if you just buy the game to play the 50 pre made levels its pretty much a waste of money.

It comes with a story mode and I think 50 levels. No one uses mics in MGO because its mic support sucks, everyone sounds like a robot.

To tell you the truth I really don't get what's so special about it. In fact I don't understand what's with all the rage behind building your own levels nowadays. I'm not paying someone else to allow me to build; I'm paying for a built game ready to play.

In all honesty I could see the game being fun with friends, but without friend over or online it would be horrible online since having played MGO I've learned that nearly no one online uses voice communication. We'll have to see how the game turns out I guess.

I would think that a game like LittleBigPlanet is specifically aimed at that crowd, the casual gamer. Its obviously an easy pick up and play type of game with a look that invites people of all ages. I think this is exactly the game that PS3 needs. They [Sony] obviously are centered around the hardcore gamer, but casual types may not be so willing to drop $500 on a videogame system, which is why the Wii has sold so well. LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation Home are catered to that audience. I thought this was a given. Both products push the community door open and I could see Japan jumping all over a game like LittleBigPlanet. In my opinion, they should go heavy with promotion for this game. I'm 26 and am in no way a casual gamer, and I still find this game very interesting. The customization is endless. Its like Echochrome with great visuals.

LBP will sell realy good. Its audience is like the audience of Wii, extremely wide. It appeals to 7 - 65 year olds and even girls will find those sackboys cute.

I don't know what you mean by that. MGS4 has a very distinct audience, therefore it doesn't have the mass appeal of a game like GTA. LittleBigPlanet also has mass appeal all over it. It should easily get the attention of casual gamers and the masses more than MGS4 can.

3 things Americans (one of the largest singles markets) obviously care about:

Sales/money (they even think a nerd like Bill Gates is cool because he has money!!)

FPS/shooters based around the USA military (This is their staple diet)

Online (a game has to have online or it's shit)

I really hope your wrong, but Sony doesn't have a great track record with advertising there games like they should be advertised. For example Haze which in alot of peoples eyes is a mediocre game at best has been advertised a hell of alot more in the area that I reside in more so than MGS4 has been advertised. Now there is something definately wrong with that picture. Now granted I have seen the MGS4 commericail quite a bit on tv, but it's no where near the level that Haze commercials were being shown.

Well there's no doubt that a great game is a great game regardless as to how well it sells, but it's still painful when a really good game doesn't sell like it should. I'm not going to generalize, but it seems like with the popularity of FPS games. Alot of people seem to only like blowing shit up, and killing people. It's trends like that thay have me alittle worried about game sells for games that are not FPS.

LittleBigPlanet is all about having fun with friends online or offline. It's sure looks fun too to create anything you want, so I think it's gonna sell well as a casual game.

Take a look at Spore and you'll see there's a huge market for this kind of game, where the user makes the playing field. I would say, as a man over the age of 20, that I will be buying the game and I'm sure others will too. Marketed correctly and with enough word of mouth, the game could do as well as Spore's creature creator (over 1 million user generated creatures made in the first month of release). No reason to have doom and gloom on your mind where Little Big Planet is concerned (at least not yet).

Diversity is good.. depending on how people can trade custom built lvls in the game and such, it could be really enjoyable..
I'm not sure if it has online play, but this would go really well with home!

And since you can make your own lvls etc, the possibilities are endless..

This game is going to sell well ATLEAST, there is quite some hype around it which I can understand fully. It's something quite new to the console market, we all know little flash game's that provide something seen in LBP but nothing that takes all good aspects of creating you'r own levels mixes them with allot of other gameplay elements and networking.

I think this game, when it will finally arive in my hands, will not leave my ps3 for a long time!

People don't realize it now, but this game will SELL PS3s. It works the same way wii popularity spreads:
A small but excited fanbase will buy it at launch. It is a cute social game, so it will be whipped out at parties. It is cute, non-threatening, non-violent, accesible, customizable, and simple fun. Sound familiar?
The PS3 will probably have seen a recent price drop when lbp hits, making prospective buyers more amicable to the idea of bringing it home.
