Just got this game after reading good reports on here and a recommendation from RudeCrayFish.

I can't believe how atmospheric (read: scary) it is!!! I've only just completed chapter 2 and I've lost count of the number of times I've jumped out of my skin. I've also had to remind myself it's only a game as I creep edgily round corners, scared witless when I suspect someone is there.

It's a brilliant game. There has been many a thread like this since its release - people picking it up on the cheap and getting a real nice surprise at the quality.

Little wonder the sequel is on it's way

17 months on and its still in the top ten of the 360s finest imo.

What do you guys reckon is a good price to pay for this game used?

I got it for ?14.99 from GAME - I'm sure it can be got cheaper, but only be a couple of quid I reckon.

I paid 12.99 for this new from Gameplay (+99p for first class delivery).

I got it for ?11 inc postage on Ebay.

It's very good considering it's a launch title.

I borrowed it from a friend and have yet to return it.

I didn't quite finish the game the first time around, so I plan to blast through it at some point, maybe this weekend.

Absolutely. Jack up the surround sound, play this late at night in the dark, and you WILL crap yourself. The atmosphere is brilliantly creepy, and there are dozens of genuine jump-out-of-your-skin moments. The audio is superb - the way you almost feel one of the pycho's breath on the back on your neck a moment befor he clubs you is brilliant. One thing I still remember almost 18 months on is how footsteps from the floor above you actually seem to be coming from above. Awesome.

This game has to have some of the best audio in any game out there for sure.

Get it cranked up on the 5.1 and it will make you jump out your skin at times... really atmospheric.

Everyone should complete this game at least once. For the price you really cant go wrong.

When you turn round whilst inside an office and someone is staring thorugh the glass, scary!

The worse bit was when i looked over a staircase just cos i was curious and this nutjob jumped up at me, i literally jumped from my seat.
