is there really no frame rate's drop in mgs4? is it depend on the tv or hdmi cable that being used?

it doesn't drop it just gets... better, for me it stays at a constant i would say like.... 30-45 fps then when when i'm look at a wall or something it looks like it's running at like 90 fps (which is probably just 60 fps and it looks super smooth due to the contrast between normal fps and when this occurs)

it got stuck twice on my first play through.
once during the EVA escape sequence,and another i cant recall.

only once,though.
and it resumed a few seconds later.

Full of bullshit. MGS4's framerate stays at a consistent 60FPS. There are brief moments of hiccups that dip down below to 30FPS. But at most, it runs at a perfect 60FPS.

r u sure? when there are too many objects (for example gekko vs militia in the beginning of the game), it drops dude.. (atleast for me..)

MGS4's framerate varies between 25 and 60 fps, so there are framerate drops in certain areas. It stays mostly at 30 though.

It isn't quite as smooth in HD, but still very good (and pretty).

There was a frame rate drop for me when I layed down 5 C4, 3 claymore and blew it all up with the Javelin in the VR range...

Heh? it stays 60fps all the time in mine. even after I killed hundreds of of hundreds of respawning PMCs in the millenium park area.

your wrong kojima stated that the game runs at 30fps during normal gameplay and 60fps during the cinematics.

everyone that doesnt notice it must never play games at 60+ fps like pc gamers, playing most console games i see tons of frame rate slowdowns i can tell when a game drops below 50fps, 30 can feel pretty bad, and when it drops to 25 im usually saying "eeww" it wont keep me from playing them tho

Framerate is ok to decent - it does drop from time to time and I wonder why. Its the textures which are the biggest problem in this game. Theres no normal mapping, and hardly any bump mapping - plus the texture quality is really mediocre (they blur up even from a distance and make COD4s textures look amazing). Add in a drab color scheme, and you are looking at just an "ok" looking game which doesnt do the PS3 justice. Even the smoke and lighting effects aren't as good as they could be. The only positive in this game (graphically) are the cool character and enemy models.

MGS4 runs at 30 fps most of the time. It only jumps to 60fps when there's either nothing much to display, nothing complicated to display (eg. looking up at the sky). However, the framerate drops to around 25 fps when there's a lot going on such as when there's a lot of people on screen and when

The framerate drops are hard to notice though.

The frame rate seems extremely stable to me for the most part. There was a little bit of slowdown when I caused mass amounts of havoc in the heavy fighting areas (using large amounts of C4, sleep satchels, and grenades in quick order, combined with all the chaos on screen from the fighting), but other than that it was really smooth.

A slight error might have happened during the installation. Delete it and reinstall. I've never had a frame rate drop in MGS4.

GG in MGO however... is a different story.

The game runs extremly fluid, and I'm one of them that notice all the frame drops.. Act 1 pretty much runs fluid maybe some frame drops if you get alert and blow up like 15 pmc's with an rpg..

In Act 2 there are some framerate drops but nothing that ruins the gameplay, not at all, not even close.

Act 3 again like act 1 no frame drops pretty much..

Act 4 well it's pretty much 60 fps all the time, (no framerate drops)

Act 5, maybe a little.

The framerate can also be a little low during Mission Briefings but that's nothing bad.
