yes because people would rather play on live than have free games.

They are bitter because the gravy train has come to an abrupt halt!

Does anyone know any details of exactly what has been done and what the update (spring dashboard ???) that was introduced that will have caused this ?

Interesting is that now once we find out this information then there will be a number of people that just wont update their hacked consoles due to fear of them being bricked. So they are then left in a situation whereby they are losing out on the new features that are also being introduced as part of these updates.

This is all very consistent with M$ at the moment. Everything Windows is all about Genuine Software, try getting any update for XP with a dodgy keygen now !!

My Original Xbox is banned more from my stupidity but I did really only have XBMC on it for watching DivX, but since moving to the 360 I see no point modding. The whole system revolves around Live, so why chance losing it?

I've had a read of those forums.. lots of posts like..

"I was running the 5.2 firmware but flashed back the original FW before the update. My other 360 I bought very cheap off a mate who was leaving the country" BOTH CONSOLES HAVE BEEN BANNED, even the one with legit FW"

er.... right, spotless, can't imagine why they've been banned..

Over at xbox-scene there are 100's of modded console owners who are happily coughing to being caught red-handed and are quite okay with it.

"If you can't do the time don't do the crime", simple-as.

M$ arn't bricking consoles ..just banning from live so in effect you still have a modded console that you can play copied games on ...just not online ..hardley a deal breaker...It wont stop piracy either ...like I said I'll still download and try games and wont buy till I'm conviced they are any good..which so far there has'nt been a keeper for ages
