nice to see you used that little discovery of search per forum for posts in the last 24 hrs

Wondered how long it would take for you to notice that I put that in. Of course it was very easy since its only a simple template change.

We are still a long ways off from having something like your system but I think given time we'll grow this one into a nice unique community with plenty of features.

I don't see the point of this addition. Why was it added?

Several Reasons:

1. It was simple to do
2. It provides a small customized search feature for each forum.
3. We're still learning what vBulletin can do and by adding little touches makes us more proficient.
4. It is a feature that Moderators and Administrators can use to make sure they are aware of each new post when they check their forums.

I still don't see the point. Newest topics are already at the top of each forum. Isn't this just a mirror of the topics?

well no... the reason this is useful to all members and mods is that the new post indicators in each forum are cookied for a period of a few minutes or hours or until a member has finished reading the posts...

using the link above brings back all posts within that forum for the last 24 hrs... sometimes you take too long in reading a post and end up loosing the new post indicators which are around for 5 or 15 mins by default i think.

as an admin on my vb i use this function daily just to make sure i didn't miss any posts which where done after i lost the new post indicators

i also use this link to see all forum posts within the last 24 hrs and 48 hrs

prequel would go insane if he failed to respond to every post made

yep .... and now my vB is closed temporarily since mysql is not playing nice..

This shoulded be a reason...just cause its simple doesn't mean its good.
