When i tried to play on live on halo 2 tonight, the game said that I needed to download a map to play, even though i had already downloaded them. is there any way to remedy this?

When you downloaded the update for the game, the cached versions of all your maps were deleted from your hard drive. Try loading up a split-screen game on each and every map before you jump on matchmaking again. If one or more of the maps won't load in splitscreen, your disc is probably too scratched and you will need to play at least one game on every map with a friend's disc before you can use your own again (the maps will be re-cached on your HD).

the maps loaded fine in split screen. Do i need to have the extra maps to play on live?

On the live bit go to Download Content and just double check that you didnt miss a map pack.

You may have to re-download everything. I know I had to. They are free so no big deal.

As an FYI, you won't be able to play matchmaking at all once the two new maps are released unless you have (read buy) the maps. Bungie is resetting all of the playlists and the new maps are in the lists.

Wait... what ? Halo doesn't work? Thats like the only game the xbox 360 has! Sell it immediately .

its ok, i got it to work last night, i just had to redownload the maps. Thanks for your help everyone.

delete the maps and re download them and hat will fix the problem.
