Atari has told Eurogamer that the latest instalment in the Alone in the Dark series will not be released on all platforms simultaneously.
The Xbox 360 and PC versions are still on schedule to arrive before the end of the publisher's fiscal year in March 2008. However, the PS3 game will follow later on a date yet to be announced.
Atari gave no reason for the delay, but assured us that AitD is still very much in development for Sony's machine.
Alone in the Dark was originally announced for 360 and PC back in 2005, with the PS3 version confirmed a year later.

The 360’s analog stick controls weapon actions in parallel motions onscreen. This was demonstrated by Carnby swinging a large pipe. Broad, exaggerated moves created similar actions. However, he delicately removed a live electric wire from a pool of water using subtle, precise moves.
The fire system is another highlight of Alone in the Dark. In the demo, Carnby grabbed a chair and lit it on fire for an improvised torch. As beautiful as it is, the fire isn’t there to give you something nice to look at—it’s a big part of the game, too. The flames propagate logically on flammable surfaces. To demonstrate this, he lit a chair on fire, which was leaning against a vertical wooden beam. Flames licked across the surfaces, generating convincing realtime highlights and shadows on nearby surfaces. Eventually, the beam weakened and toppled in half, knocking a conveniently placed row of plywood sections down like dominos. After a little contact with the charred beam, they, too, burst into flame. If things get out of control, the game does include fire extinguishers.

Well from what i've heard and saw is completely different. I heard ultra realistic scarry walking all over NY, central park, ect with hobos and druged up bad guys.But the only footage is climbing a skyscraper on a rope ?

I've never played an Alone in the Dark game, from the trailer the graphics look top notch, how do the games usually play good/bad?

I remember playing an Alone in the Dark game for the PS1 back in the day. Dont remember to much about it but I think I enjoyed it lol. Always welcome new games to the 360 though so Ill keep my eye on this one.
