Halo's story isn't original. That's why most people don't like it even though the main focus should be on the extremely fun gameplay.

I agree that space marines fighting in the future has been done before, but the details are important, the flood add alot to the game, and if you consider the halo novels the game has a bigger story arc than most games out there.

Umm Halo became popular on the LAN party scene first. Just because you don't have XBL doesn't mean the mulitplayer component becomes a dud. There was a time before XBL you know.

theres not a **** thing wrong with halo's story, halo CE had an awesome story, halo 2 didnt have a bad one either but it wasnt told correctly, halo has always had good SP even though it took a step backward in halo 2 IMO, its definately taking a step forward now.

Yes but while Halo is actually most popular for its online play, the majority of people that bought it didn't even have Xbox Live. In that sense, the majority of the review should come from the Single Player, and Halo has not really been known to have the most amazing story/SP out there. Especially not compared to Bioshock.

H3 isnt out yet either, and like I said before Hype makes it harder to get a high score because if the game isnt on point in every aspect it will feel like a letdown thus being graded more harsh than an under hyped game.

it means a game with high expectations drives a company more to live up to the hype to get high scores. it doesnt need a 40 million dollar budget

Seems to me like Halo 3 has already succeeded in the graphics department.
Its not super detailed like Gears but thats never been Halos art direction anyway.
I'm wanting to know about its superiority to halo 2 in terms of campaign and mutliplayer.

Well, seeing that Killzone 2 isn't out yet, it's impossible to rate it. I didn't say that since a game is overly hyped, that it will automatically get high scores. I said, that Halo 3 will most likely have higher scores than other games because it's the Xbox360's flagship game - and hype comes along with it.

Killzone will never have "Halo" hype because the first game - and I did love the first one. Great Online - wasn't that "great" of a game. Halo is the Xbox360's flagship game, so, it's only natural to give it a higher score I guess. But, Sometimes I do think reviews just throw "10s" at it just because of it's name.

Halo 2's multiplayer is broken. But from what I was given in the Beta, Bungie finally learned how to balance the weapons to near perfection. I was finally using something else other than the BR or the sniper.
