Is it me or is there a wireless network adaptor at the back of the HD-Drive??

Yep there is an adapter on the back on it and is it just me or is the HDDVD bigger than you thought..

That's because you have to put the official adaptor there if you're using the usb on the back of the 360 for the HD-DVD

Yes there is - if you plug the HDDVD drive into the USB port on the back of the Xbox360 where are you going to put the wireless adaptor? On the back of the HDDVD drive.

Thought so - I actually thought it was a new fancy feature on the HD drive

Nope, I thought that at first, but if you have a wireless network adapter, look at it, it's twice the side of it, it's pretty tiny. Bear in mind it'll also be laying so the drive is facing you, so it's pretty streamlined.

Yes, a lot bigger. It's not sleek or particulary good looking IMO.
Especially considering how small our mac/windows laptop drives are at home (especially the mac with its slot loading) that are also high speed and dual layer writers as well!
Dissapointed with it's size, let's hope it's performance makes up for it.

No, I would have thought it would be to do with certain PC titles where you will be able to play online against users running the Xbox 360 version.

It's about the size I thought it would be to be honest. It's pretty much the size of a PC drive inside a plasic casing. The 360 dvd drive takes up around 2/3rds the size of the console and this looks a similar size to that.

The HD Drive is mahoosive!

It is, but at least it contains its own power supply! It's got a certain hardback book look about it - but hey, if it plays HD-DVDs and the price is right, I'm sold.

This isn't your bog-standard drive at home - it's new technology. HD-DVD laptop drives are like dodo eggs at the moment, I doubt anyone will see them in mainstream PC retail until at least Q3 next year. Toshiba laptops shipping with these drives are in the ?2500 price region.

Tosh is aiming for the big HD-DVD push in Europe this Autumn. They'll be making these PC-type HD-DVD drives by the truck-load and hoping that the XBOX360 add-on will help them establish a foothold in this barmy 'format war'.
