I'm with you. It was clear from the beginning that this users agreement had nothing to do with firmware. I don't even expect the ps3 to get better any more. I just accept that the ps3 has a poor online presence.

Not to sound crass, but didn't we know it was false as soon as PSU reported it? I hate to say it, but aren't they basically the "National Inquirer" of the internet these days? I keep waiting on the story about a bat-child coming out of someone's PS3 when they ejected a disc.

hahahaha. Ghostfox, I can confirm my ps3 has already had a bat child. If yours doesn't, then you need to get in touch with customer services. Maybe someone else got your bat child.

The consoles a year old now the excuse that it's a young console arent legitimate anymore. There's no sign anywhere that things are gonna improve on any major level. I'v always railed against the media and fanboys for attacking the PS3. But on every level it's failing PSN, Movie download service, PS store, Games. I'v a feeling the criticism of the PS3 will soon reach a crescendo.

the ps3 is awesome the way it is, i bought it at 699 Canadian and I got a lot more than what I was expecting, everything that comes out now is icing on the cherry topped cake for me.

This is about the EULA, the User agreement that if anyone bothered to actually read they'd KNOW it had nothing to do with the firmware update. I said as much a week ago! why is it people dont listen to common sense.

yeah kind of odd how most of them did jump that fast. it was the user license that got an update and there was no mention of firmware

yeah people are (and were) really overreacting.

I don't believe its impossible for 2.0 to release at october. it's unlikely, but not impossible. anyway, while waiting for 2.0 I can always keep playing Fifa or play Eye of Judgment or Folklore or R&C, so I really have no complaints about this.

I think people are pretty much over reacting when they are saying the "ps3 sucks" and "im buying a 360" by all means get one if u want to many forum members here have been telling people that fw2.0 wasnt on its way but some people never listened and now they are disappointed beyond relief come on people wheres ur common sense??

well i remember seeing a best buy form on the internets a few weeks ago stating a new sku was coming, then more rumors, and finally sony stated "ROFL wtf you guys talking about theres no new sku coming." but wait a couple weeks after that uk gets the rumored 40gb, hmmmm but sony said they werent gonna do that?

all im saying is sony denies everything untill the very end. need more examples 60gb price drop? no bc on 40gb?

and please if you do feel that the online offerings that sony has is inferior than that to the holy xbox why dont you just sell the ps3 and get the xbox then? I know ingame xmb would be nice so we can finally msg friends with out exiting game, but other than that whats the big deal? and home is not gonna be the end all online service, its going to be neat but not the big atomic bomb that will destroy the xbox like some of you think its going to be.

god it was nice to come to this forum back before the ps3 came out, i remembered it as real people discussing latest news some rumors, the technology powering the ps3, because of this forum i was able to get inline for preorders before other people even knew about it. Now however whenever i come here it seems like its just a bunch of people whining over this and that.

Meh... people deserve to be disappointed for having any sort of expectations to begin with. My experience with the PS3 has been (almost) 10 months of underwhelming mediocrity. I'm sure at some point the PS3 will do what it was supposed to, Sony did claim a 10 year lifespan, in the mean time brush up on War and Peace or something because it will be a long while.

I don't regret buying the PS3 because I know that at some point my friends will have PS3's, but I do realize that will probably take over a year. It's what we get for adopting early. In the mean time I'm excited that November should bring my game count up from 1 to 4!

I agree with everything you say here. If it helps, I have had 5 friends buy a ps3 in the last fortnight, and our warhawk sessions have been brilliant.It does highlight the shortcomings of PSN when you have to text each other on our mobile phones to coordinate our game choice, what match we want to play and so on.

btw just because the userragreemnet 2.0 has NO releavence to FW 2.0, doesnt mean that it still isnt possible this month. It has been almost 4 MOnths since the last Big update, so we are about due for our enxt big update anyway.

For the beta test of Warhawk I couldn't even get onto a server without timing out. So I refuse to buy the game, I don't want to pay for that experience.

Right not I'm enjoying Fifa multiplayer, not online thought. I don't know when DSL became too slow for gaming. I remember when my ISDN line game me instant response and perfect gaming. Even more proof that programmers will take every crutch they can to save time in optimizing code. Since cable internet became multi megabit capable my performance with 300ish Kb DSL has reminded me of dial up days.

I imagine you'll get an update just before the DS3 comes out. Mandatory for supporting the new hardware.

Well I kinda expected this, Sonys online incompetence has been letting down its customers for some time now, at least we are getting some AAA titles this holiday season

But dude, there is still 12 hours left in the day. It still could come out!! I'm telling you man, I've got this guy, who knows a guy, who talks to his boss in Gamestop, that knows an insider, who interviewed somebody that is working on the firmware. They are totally coming out, my friend told me!
