lair can be played via remote play more games in future

that's right, if you remotely connect your psp to your ps3 you can literally play lair on the go, this is an unbelievable update, I found it while browsing neogaf. This is one of the biggest finds for ps3... imagine what they could do, I just tried remote play on the new update and the response time has definitely picked up a little bit, if sony could refine it a little more and somehow release a patch for all games to be playable this would be far and away the best handheld-console connectivity ever.

It already is the best console-handheld connectivity, whatever so far.

And yes, sounds pretty cool.

I don't get it? one response, this find is huge. Playing games whenever you want as long as you have psp/wifi, I dunno I guess I just found it interesting.

Kinda old, well not really that old but I've herd and seen of this a few days ago.

this is good.. a step into the realm of remote play.. when i first connected my PSP to the PS3 via wireless it was awesome. I was able to play music, pics, vids... except for games.. I always told people about the capability that SONY will one day allow games to be played via remote. This is amazing and is a great step for SONY.

imagine the future being able to play GT5, LBP, and other great games on the go, it's a really great concept, I just wish sony would advertise it or something.

surley the graphics arent as good. And how the hell do you control the dragons, i thought Liar only worked via motion of the sixaxis.

this is older then my grandmother.

Old or what, I didn't know about this! That is unbelievable! How's the graphics on PSP, nearly equal to those on big screen eh?

The remote play proved that you don't need sixaxis to control the dragon. Heck, the PSP has less button and one analogue stick!

But since you have to press R2 + L2 to land, how can it be that the dragon is walking on the ground in the second picture?

It's kind of a shame factor 5 used up the MBs required to get remote play working rather than getting the framerate stable all the time.

I don't know exactly how it works...I mean it could only really work if the ps3 if obviously still doing all the processing and just sending the screen ouput over wireless.

If anyones ever tried to VNC or remote a desktop computer playing a game, would know that it must be tough to get the refresh rate that high...

Of course there's no overhead, no windows, nothing else going on to worry about...but it still seems crazy they could pull off fast action games.

RPG's though would probably shine though with this feature. I think it's pretty cool. I have a psp, still waiting to get a ps3 though.

It is pretty cool, but the problems are that you still need to have your PS3 turned on, since it's still the PS3 playing the game and not the PSP. The framerate isn't as good, you can't land the dragon since there isn't any R2 and L2 buttons on PSP.

Here is a video of someone playing Lair on PSP:

I would have to say this is VERY cool though - just wait till they get this stuff down a little more...

We may see some amazing things with MMOs and stuff where you could have remote PSP players (friends) interacting with with you in massive environments so they could be at starbucks and you at your house all playing the same game and your PS3 crunching all the information.

they are exactly the same as the ps3... the processing is still done by the ps3, it's just the video is sent to the ps3, sort of like a wireless controller with a screen built in.
