Why only UK ? I think MS knows the rest of EU is PS3, but even soo they should do something bigger.

E3 is in America, where MS has more strength. In Europe PS3 is shaping out nicely and by the begining of 2008 it has already taken MS in PAL territories.

Because we are like one of the biggest videogame markets in the world and very similar to America in terms of what we buy. If they can get a hold over the UK like they have the US then it would be a very big deal.

its probably UK only as thats there 2nd strongest market worldwide after north america (US/Canada) and the rest of europe hasnt latched onto the 360 as they would of liked (still sony land afterall)

Hey this is great news! I'm already really pleased with how MS manages the UK market. And lately they've really sold me on the X360 and on their vision for the future.

I'm just glad that since they arrived on the scene with the original Xbox, they never turned out to be another Sony and continually mess around with us whatever chance they get. People gave them flack for their launch, but I was really pleased that they included EU even though it would have benefited them to hold back. Basically they TRIED.

This is the attitude I like to see as a gamer in the UK, and this new event shows me that they continue to see the UK as they do the rest of their market.

This view I have,which will no doubt go down as Xbot fanboism on this forum, is actually completely derived from how the both companies, Sony and Microsoft, acted since E3 2005. It is not from brand loyalty, but out of a complete observation of the two companies since 2005. Take that as you will, I don't care.

Why didn't they just made a X07 in UK? They have always done the X events in Europe.

Anyways, I'm happy for this. I wonder if this is shaping as a big *** event or something more developer oriented like GDC.

Great post. Sums it up perfectly for me and that is one of the main reasons why I got a 360. Gone are the days where the UK gets shafted with releases. At most, the games come out within a week of them being out in the US whereas with Sony you are left waiting on average half a year, even though both countries speak the same language . Lost Odesyee will come out this fall at the same time in the UK/US/JAP regions. The rest of Europe will have to wait because of all the different languages, but it makes sense that way.

Also we don't get shafted in terms of pricing as much.

I work for game, we and most other stores sell nearly double 360's compared to ps3's... same with independant stores here in Glasgow!

Called it!!! Go check the original X07 canceled threads/reasons why. They are making smaller events around the continent. It won't be as large but they'll introduce the games slowly (1-2 per event). They did this with X04.

Here in Portugal everyone knows what a Playstation is. It ALWAYS dominated here and with the PS3 the trend is mantaining itself

Europe IS Sony land, doesn't mean other consoles don't sell more.
