Yup, completely true.

There is so much potential behind the series, but for some reason its always had complete idiots making them. They've destroyed the authentic feel of the first, by now giving the characters super powers and inhuman ability. Its now more like an anime with even less depth.

If they want any chance of breaking into the next-gen market then they need to ditch the damn engine they've been using since Wrath of Heaven, and stick to the original formula from Tenchu 1... but somehow I doubt that'll happen unless the franchise moves on to someone else.

There are many times where you wish you could put yourself in the hands of a game director and pull to project towards your goals, because your expectations are more dead on then the director himself.

This is one of those times. I mean, come on, you don't play as Rikimaru?

The Tenchu developers should go back to the drawing board and find out what made the Tenchu series so great. Then try to mimic it for the next installment, if any.

That's about right, I hated the demo so much.

Judging by the demo on the mp i think they have been very generous with that score...

Before I looked I said to myself, "they gave it a 4". I was close.

I bet it's kinda soul destroying for a developer to read these types of reviews.

I agree that they should go back to what made the original good. People lose focus I suppose.

Tenchu 1&2 were fun. From then on it sucked IMO.

Soul destroying? I'd like to kill some of them because they're so ****ing stupid. The first one was the most realistic ninja game ever made (just the feel of it, along with the kickass music and the feel of ancient japan), 'til this day and probably for a long time as we can tell. The game had an authentic full orchestral music score for the love of God.

My problem is that I feel the series hasn't changed enough. The first one may have been great back in '98 or whever it came out but if you put it side by side with this new one I don't think it'll be too much better or worse. Over the last 9 or 10 years since the original Tenchu was released, stealth games have become smarter and more involving, and I just feel the developers of Tenchu are simply stuck in that time era...or they just don't give a *****.

the demo was so damn terrible... it really made me cry.. graphics were awful, controls were awful, character designs were crappy... this game looked like an xbox1 game...

Was this supposed to go up against Ninja Gaiden Sigma? (different game mechanics i know... but still) because its really terrible.

I haven't played the game, but after watching the review, I sure as hell won't even rent it! That game looks horrible!

i rememebr playing the psx version till 5 in the morning, at night is the best time to play tenchu, i remeber that whistle the ninja has that make a womanly moaning sound and get the pirates all frisky which make them running around looking for poontang, then i kill them,, hahaha, classic.

I remember the first Tenchu on the PS2. I liked that one. I first played it in a demo and played it non-stop.
