Ok... the RROD issue is currently haunting microsoft big time...

I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether the UK elite will come with the extra heat sink on the GPU as standard.

Peter moore said they fixed the issue a short while ago... does that mean the epoxy around the chips... or the new heat sink... (or both?)


I want a 360 elite... so will be very interested to find out. Thanks in advance for your help

my understanding is that any xbox 360 elite manufactured after the 24th of March comes with the extra heatsink, which of course is great news.

if this is not true, then i dont see why MS wont manufacture the UK elites without the extra heatsink, its the only logical thing to do unless they locate the exact problem to the ROD before they release the elite over here.

i also want one, and i am hoping for the price drop before august 24th!

i would say its pretty reliable, GAME are quite good at predicting things so i would go with them.

I would wait untill some company takes it apart and reports what is inside.

ummm..only refurbished 360's since march have heatsinks, Premiums & Elites still have RROD problems, they ain't putting them in retail models
thats why they extended the warranty, not matter when or what version you buy
it will still RROD, the only difference now is the extended warranty
thou you could wait for the Falcon, and see how that fairs

I just read that they COULD do that if the new chips and motherboard save on power/heat/space

cool.... so if it breaks in 3 years... they fix it... i'm ok with that...

that is really not a good plan. now if they did this.
they send you referb first then you send in yours.
but no.
you send in yours wait and wait untill they figure out problem then send you a referb your your old one fixed.

some people wait 2 weeks some wait 2 months.

this is why i always buy store warrenty.

for my elite and my ps3.
sure its extra $50-$100
but in the end its better

like right now 1 1/2 years from now i can return my elite and ps3 saying its freezing then i get brand new ps3 and elite with new warrenty for $100.

say you get elite
but you hate it and made bad choice.

go buy at store be sure you got store warrenty.
go back to store tell them you hate it and want full refund or new elite or store credit,

then if you get new elite sell it.
or get store credit

Yeah, but they don't cover DRE, Disc scratching, overheating, firmware bricking
I'd wait for the Falcon tbh, plus the warranty is good, but how many time are yeah gonna have to send it back?

why would MS be so stupid as to not manufacture new 360's with the heatsink, its what they ADD INTO THE CONSOLE WHEN YOU SEND IT FOR REPAIR! surely it makes sense to start manufacturing them now! jesus!
