Even if they released Halo 3 the same day the Sony Launches the PS3, it would not impact the sales of the PS3. There is no way a Software would out shine a hardware.

MGS4 not important, thats the main reason that many people i kno are getting the ps3, if its not a important game then it would not be able to steal the show at TGS, which it did, clearly showing its importance, now think about e3, showing H3, that would be a very big obsticle for sony.

Any system that places their entire future on a single game has some serious problems. I was brought to the xbox by the false promises of Halo and am now totally turned off to the xbox system and halo franchise by the second one. It was a complete waste of money in retrospect and time as well. My xbox live time is totally gone now. The only thing redeeming the original xbox is ninja gaiden.

Anyway, getting back on topic, Halo 3 no matter what the userbase, cannot possibly compare to the PS3. They aren't even in the same league, even the same sport (thanks to Pulp Fiction for that one). It may be a great game, but the multiplayer is the only thing great about it. I guess that goes along with what Bill said though, they would battle PS3 online.

wait MGS4 is really important? hmmm I dont think so at all. Look the japanese rather to see Final Fantansy and other MMORPG. MGS 4 isnt that important in US at all either, Socom were better then that or Madden.

Again with this series/game. Who the hell cares? I mean, really... if this game is THIS important, tell me why.

the same reason MGS4 is important for ps3, Halo will b another big franchise going to the next generation so of course people will want to see it, except Halo is actually a bigger series than MGS, when H2 outsells MGS3 on a system with 1/3 of the user base as another, you kind of notice the popularity.

no were did he say that H3 would not launch with ps3, he said "they are going to let them take their time on it" ps3 will get out by May if they lucky, and if they do, im betting $5 that itll be japan only and NA about 6 months later like all other sony products, if its 6 months later, o ya, H3 would be done by then, theyve been working on it for 1-2 years now, and trust me, theyll put it up against the ps3 NA launch w/o a doubt unless sony surprises us with it in NA in spring, which most likely wont happen because the old saying goes, "history repeats itself"

i can be found playing project gotham racing 3 mostly.

I would think strategically, Halo 3 would be ideally released when PS3 comes out, whether it will stifle console sales, I would doubt that. But at the very least he backed out of his arrogance.

This can be said about all businessmen, Microsoft or Sony is no exception .

Bottom line is, remember the pain, work, stealing, and bloodshed necessary in raising the funds to pay for these new gaming systems, filter the businessmen and hype and focus on whether the time you spent earning money is worth it for whatever you're buying (unless you're independantly wealthy).

I myself got the XBOX360. When the PS3 arrives I'll be in line for that too actually.

It is just like the question "when will Unreal Tournament 2007 be out for the Playstation 3 and will it be a launch title?" Nobody knows for sure and all the developers will say is that it will be done when it is done.

I think hes just taking a leaf out of sonys book and deciding that blabbing out every little piece of information you have isnt always the best way. Hes a computer geek, not an expert in marketing.

Can anyone believe anything Gates says? I think we all knew that Halo 3 would not be out around the time PS3 would. I think he said that to help hype up his E3 press conference.
