customised updated topics search

I currently use the 'Updated Topics' search url as my homepage when visiting here.

I was wondering if there is any way to customise the list of forums that is searches through and returns in the list.

There are several forums that I don't visit and have no intention of visiting, so it would be handy for me (and like-minded members) to exclude those forums which I/we do not attend from the search returns.

I do check out several forums here, so I cannot easily check out what's new without going in and out of several forums.
Unfortunately for me, some of the forums that don't interest me are quite popular and form much of the bulk of the returns in an Updated Topics search.

Customising the search would reduce the number of threads presented to me and would mean that the threads returned were *all* focussed on my particular interests.

Is this currently possible?

Would any other members appreciate such a facility?

Is there any possibility that this could be introduced as a new feature?

I think this is a good idea although I would only use it on certain smaller forums (not SPF). This would require some hacking and modifying and I've actually requested this hack over on vBulletin.org, the official vBulletin hacking community, but it didn't get much interest.
