What is better Paysystem or 2Checkout

Hi,

I am currently using Paypal and Clickbank to accept payments.

Paypal would be good enough if they do not force payers to sign up and become a member first. And, I'm planning to drop Clickbank for its high commission charge. I am just wondering what you guys think of Paysystems (myPaysystems) and 2checkout? Why do you like or dislike them? Or if you have other service that you recommend.

Thank you,
Kayenumb

I have accounts with both and my vote goes with paysystems for the following reasons:

Although, paysystems support can be slow at times it is much better that 2checkout where you are luck if your tickets are answered within a week.

2checkout seems to be having alot of problems with their database recently - at times it is not possible to log into their control panel, as solution to this was promised but we are still waiting.

With paysytems it is possible to add your own fields into the payment pages.

Cost of international wires is cheaper with Paysystems.

Hope that helps in some way,

Adrian.

I am curently using Paysystems... works pretty well but I had a chargeback from a legitimate customer and they did absolutely nothing to help me. Never returned phone calls, didn't respond to trouble tickets, etc.

However, I don't think you're going to get much help anywhere with chargebacks... that's just part of our business. Paysystems has been OKAY but one of the big problems is you can't change the layout or design of the checkout page.

On 2Checkout you can design the page to look just like your website, so visitors are more at easy with the change from your site to theirs. I've designed a 2checkout site for a client and it's worked really well.

I guess in the end it's just up to you - compare the rates and features against what you need. Pick the one that's best for you.

I was thinking about going with 2checkout, has anyone had a horrible experience with them at all?

I'm with both 2checkout and paysystems.. 2checkout has slightly more flexible with api and stuff.. But paysystem seems to have a better fraud check.. But lately their email notification has been REALLY slow. I had an order last night and didn't get a notice about it till TONIGHT! Horrible.. and if a client does a charge back.. you can pretty much forget it.. I never had a chargeback with 2checkout so i don't know how they handle that.. Both pays pretty much on time.

Yeah, I have experienced the slowe-mail response problem with Paysystem where I bought something and the seller would say that they have not received the payment confirmation yet.

We're with 2CO a year and half and have no major problems so far (fingers crossed). I love their multicurrency feature; it allows to show prices on our website in our visitor's native currency (using live exchange rates from 2CO). I must mention their fraud dept who successfully investigated and reversed a few "friendly" chargebacks (it matters if you're selling instant downloadable e-goods). Their recent server upgrades apparently have fixed the database problems mentioned above.
I gave a try to PaySystems lately. It took couple of weeks to collect all required papers, then I faxed docs to them. I must admit it can be done faster but at other hand, 2CO authorizes your application almost real-time with no paperwork whatsoever. Ok, I tried to switch our checkout process to PS. Testing PS account is not for the faint hearted. To switch your account to the test mode you have to open a support ticket; then wait several hours; then start testing only to find out that you have to enter a real card data even while testing (you won't find this fact in their knowledge base); then test mode silently switches back to "live" out of the blue, and you have send another ticket asking to put account in demo again and so on and on and on... With 2CO I switch between demo and live modes simply by clicking a button in control panel.
Now for the PS multicurrency... if their website gives you idea that you can offer your buyers the currency choice, you are mislead. You can choose and process payments only in one currency.
PaySystems order page.... yeah... you have to see it! It has the word "PaySystems" on it repeated about 8 times in different sizes and colors! thankfully, you, the seller mentioned there too. Once.
PS "points" term is apparently invented to comply with the card companies requirements. But your buyer couldn't care less. If he/she won't figure out what does the phrase "points redeemed to" mean, you'll lose a sale.
I gave up after I've learnt that there are no "transaction good" parameters passed back to your redirect URL (aka "thank you" page). Again, for e-goods seller it means that anyone can hit your redirect URL directly bypassing the payment process altogether. For comparision, 2CO payment routine passes back a unique MD5 hash, which you can check on your server to see if the order is valid.

PaySystems does have IPN functionality which enables you to verify a payment and provide the download.

Still, all of your other complaints are ... legitimate.

2checkout has let us down badly this Summer.Have been with them for nearly 2years.Noticed the standard slipping after Xmas. One of our partners was very ill in June and we needed the money to come in to pay for the medics etc.We are not talking about a few bucks but 2000 sometimes more sometimes less.Anyway, the money did not come in on the wire, after struggling with the stupid ticket system eventually after a week they answered to say the money had been released. It had not, then they sent to say that our details had ben tampered with OVER THERe!!! but they would make sure it did not happen again.Guess what? IT HAS.We have been waiting for 8 days and still nothing in although they are showing the money has been released. They have not answered any of our tickets or mails to all the individual staff we know about. What a way to treat really good vendors like we are here in GB.We have only had onr tiny charge back in the whole of that time. They keep sending >HIGH RISK reports about clients that have bought from us through 2checkout for years, and watch out for fraud. These are great buyers, big hiters with money. We are so depresed about all of this as we can see now that they are no better than the rest.Any comments of if you do actually know of an honest merchant please let us know ASAP.Sorry for the length of this but be warned,Is there a place in OHIO we can contact about this,eg over in GB we have an Ombudsman to arbitrate. Please help us.
