I have no idea if this is the right place to put this but this morning I received a somewhat strange email from newest!!! don williamson, your Affiliate Program Partners now although it said on the top that this was from sitepoint forumns it wasn't your typical sitepoint email, basically it has been forwarded (referback@monster.com) a number of times and then sent to me.... full of strange links

I replied and said unsubscribe etc as there wasn't any link for it - but if its not from you guys then you might want to check it out as someone is using your name when they shouldn't.

I can send on the email so that you can check it out further if you need to.

We are sorry about this. It seems someone signed up to the Community and not only spammed the forums but used a script or some sort of program to automate the sending of these emails to the member list through our online form.

We terminated his access to the site as soon as we became aware of the problem. Please accept our apology about this.

Thanks for the reply - glad to hear that you outed this person, shame that some people see this type of thing as fun ?!? .

Either way I am still an avid SP member, and its to your credit that its been spotted so quickly and resolved - time to carry on and surf the forumns .
