hi all - i have just ordered the playseat evolution and a logitech G25 steering wheel which arrives tomorrow (fingers crossed) does anyone else have this set-up who could advise me how to set it up with the PS3 whats the wheel like hoping for the money i should be able to place a car exactly where i want to and be able to opposite lock for fun otherwise im going to be extremely pxxxxx off! any advice would be appreciated

i will post some pix later with pleasure if anyone wants to see it i have to say initially i was a little unimpressed you cant use it on motorstorm (the pedals anyway) on F1 its a complete joke as there is no force feedback and it simply wanders too much around centre when as anyone knows precision is whats needed to play F1 but then i put on GT-HD and after maybe an hour getting used to it its absolutely superb flicking the steering wheel on the elise and balancing it on the throttle is a total joy when perfected it will keep you on for hours the playseat supports in all the right places too my only criticism is the brake pedal behind the stteering column pole i have small feet so not too bad for me but my mates find it annoying a two pedal system wouild be better and get rid of the clutch most folk will just use the paddles behind the wheel anyway. overall a bit expensive (wheel and seat and gearshifter adapter was ?380.00 from tgrav.com) after a bit of haggling there really good aswell hope this helps

Once games come out that support the H shifter and clutch, you really won't want to use a set without them.

I think GT5 will support them and I might end up getting a PS3 just for this if the G25 is fully supported.

If you PC is good enough to play 3 year old games then you might want to try Live for Speed with your G25. http://www.lfs.net/

mate you really do need to get the latest patch that has just come out for F1 on ps3 its awsome and the G25 is lovely with F1 now, 100 times better than before patch, the FF is so good with F1 and the G25 now, people will now want to buy a G25 just for F1.

hi m8, you just start up F1 and go online and it says there is a new update for it, then you just say yes to install it, then you will have to go into wheel settings and enable the magic FF enjoy

Didn't think i'd see anyone in here mentioning LFS! Been playing it since the 0.1 demos. Im L(oO)ney on there btw.

Best racing sim ever. As far as physics are concerned, LFS is king. Scawen + co have done a great job on it.

Got a Playseat and G25 myself

I love mine with GTR2 on the PC (only game i play) via Sony XL201 Media Centre and on a 40X2000 LCD

Got a PS3 mainly for Blurays last week and thought i would get Sega rally and was very dissapointed with it hooked to the G25, will get F1 if u guys recommened it that much

hi folks

looking to get one of these ordered once i clear up my confusiion.What is the difference apart from the colour with these 2 seats. as the first one is almost ?100 cheaper
i just dont want to buy one and find i could of had the same quality for 100 pounds less or i opted for cheap and it turned out to be nasty.

The main difference is the word 'Evolution' and the cross-section of the tubing.

It seems the Evolution range is the newer one, hence the price difference. Of course, there could be other differences, but you'd have to check all of the details - they are both from the same company.

Got the cheaper one myself great bit of kit mated with a G25

Collected from the same company there in milton keynes

Gear lever mount bolts to the frame and is adjustible

If i had my time over again i would pay the ?80 more as they are met to be more sturdy

Why don't you consider Bob Earl's Virtual Racing Chassis? I am using that with the G25 and I must say it is fabulous. It is very sturdy (the wheel and pedals are screwed onto the bases and that is important with all the clutch work you'll do in GT5P and the sheer weight of the G25 package). I tried the Gameracer and found that it is not as sturdy as the VRC. Check it out at http://www.bobearlracing.com/

I just got the A1GP plus the sliding seat adjustment and gear stick holder, I order directly from Playseat and got it within 3 days. I have the G25 hook up to it and it is awsome, it really make you feel like being in a full arcade game!!

The Paradise Burnout demo is so much fun which was totally unexpected!

I wish they did a combination for the two. I have a Playseat Evolution, which is great, but when using the G25 you need to offset the pedals because the centre support for the pedal plate is in the way as it is in front of the plate. The older Playseats had the support framework behind the pedal plate so it's not a problem. Maybe one day I'll make my own piece up but that would be wasting valuable racing time

in regards to the playseat and now with much more interest in driving games with the excelleny gt5 now on ps3, i am defo looking to get a playseat with the g25 wheel .

if we can gather enough people who also want one of these seat kits then maybe we can buy a few in one go and save some pennies.

like i say i want one but am willing to wait if it means me saving some cash so anyone else up for a group buy of somesort

I'd love a G25 wheel etc but honestly, is it really usable without some sort of seat as well? I can't see how it's possible to use something like this sat on the sofa, I think I'd struggle justifying both to the wife! Also not sure a playseat would fit in the space between my sofa and the cabinet my TV is on, will have to do some measuring tonight (if it fits there'll be no going back though!).

I am contemplating the Playseat A1GP Logitech G25 solution in preparation for Gran Turismo Prologue but have a few questions before I take the plunge.
Does anyone use the playseat as their only gaming chair?
How comfortable is this piece of kit for say a 5 hour CoD4 fest?
Does the steering wheel mount section get in the way of your natural hand position when using a controller?
Does the steering wheel itself cover any section of the screen? Not an issue for a racing sim but a major issue for an FPS which is my other genre of choice.

I find the seat to be very comfortable and have used it to sit in while playing non driving games. The steering/pedal mount can be easily disconnected in seconds from the seat and moved out of the way leaving a clear line of sight (not a problem for me anyway) and plenty of hand position for the pad (this was an issue).

Playseat or Gampod?

The playseat looks great but does that central bar not get in the way when you are braking??

Anyone used the gamepod? http://www.gamepod.co.uk/ Looks like it could be better as there is no central post coming down to support the shelf.

I am going to be ordering in a few days, so any help much appreciated.

Also, one more thing? Is anyone going to wait for the official GT5 wheel or still got for the G25 wheel?

Right the G25 has arrived and surprised it didn't come with the bolts to secure it to the Playseat (Playseat not arrived yet).

Do the bolts come with the Playseat or should they have come with the G25 ??? or do I have to purchase them seperately.

Well that went down like a lead balloon !!!!!!!!

The wife gave us the green light for a G25 a few days ago, I thought I would mention yesterday that the playseat would go well with it........................I wish I'd never mentioned it . It's my birthday at the beginning of March so was hoping for them both. Don't think that'll be happening, waste of money she said .

In regards to the central bar and the pedals, you can offset the pedals to the right (as you sit in the seat) and then the bar is no problem, plenty of room on either side to reach clutch/brake

I have mine set in the middle, it's probably just the way I play. The centre bar doesn't get in the way. I tend not to move my right leg from the accelerator to the brake, I just move my foot.........this is the way I drive in real life.

are there any decent alternatives to the playseat as im not sure after hearing bout the pole in middle and creaking when in seat. also not sure whether that gamespot 1 has mount for gearstick. so far this seems to be best i have found but is in america

Had a quick go on GT5P demo was ok after 20 mins of getting used to it. But with all assists off found it abit hard. Might just put ABS on a little. First time i have ever really used a wheel. Suppose ill get used to it.

Sega rally was hard to control. Abit sensitive.

The Seat is very good quality, and so is the G25. Trying to find the most comfy position. I wasnt expecting the build quality to be as good as it is for the wheel.Very solid, Worth the money and just hope i get the use out of it.

All im waiting on now is the Gearshift holder for the Playseat. Ordered from Gameseek on sunday. Still nothing. GT5 should be here today too. Was dispatched on wednesday.
