Conexant HSF V92 connection speed is terrible
I have a brand new P4- 1.6gig that is a fantastic machine .I also have the infamous Conexant V92 56k RTAD speakerphone pci modem. I went through the posts and tried a number of fixes all to no avail I connect at 26.4Kbps with an occasional venture up to 28.8Kbps.I tried the new strings that others suggested, I down loaded supposed driver upgrades (This lost the modem all together and I had to use system restore)I uninstalled the modem and reinstalled it off the disk and I upgraded the driver off the device manager. My connection speed is very consistant at 26.4 and my S/N ratio is a little low at 37 but I would expect a better connect rate than I'm getting. The thing actually works fine, just less than great speed.Any more suggestions? I am using Dell net/MSN for my DUN.

I have the v90 and was able to correct the same problem by entering the string AT&F&C1&D2+MS=V90,0 in the advanced connection screen on my modem.

I know that more than likely you've tried fixes I've posted here...but you may want to read more about what I have to say on this modem at my site with my 2001 Christmas List article
