Hi

I was planning to upgrade the ram of my laptop. Currently it has 512mb ram. I was planning to upgrade it to 1.5gb by buying a 1gb additional ram.

I am not too sure if I have ddr1 or ddr2 ram (the price difference is huge in both). Please tell me if I have DDR2 or DDR1? This screenshot says it is SDRAM?

Also, if I understand correctly, I have a additional slot for that extra RAM right? Will the person from whom I will buy the RAM install it himself for me or do I need to go to the ASUS service center for that?

AFAIK, its DDR2, BTW let me know the model number rather than providing screenshot.

You should contact ASUS customer support for best results rather than installing slot urself or somone else in your relation.

Try CPU-Z and post your RAM details.

THe problem is that there is hardly any service center of ASUS laptops here. Can i just buy a transcend ram from the local dealer and get him to set it up ? Is it safe? I was looking around and it seems to be a easy job. No major hassles.
