do any games come in full 1080p or is it just blu-ray movies?
each game I have is 720p, and they're all good titles

Any games that are native 720p will display in 720p as the PS3 does not upscale games. Only games that are native 1080p will actually display in that resolution.

i've got a loan of an lcd just now, in the menu etc it comes up 1080p, then most games it goes to 720p

does the 1080p that comes up on the screen just mean that's what signal it's being fed, as opposed to what it's displaying ?

Apologies - you are right, just checked my copy. Almost certain the one in game wasn't - strange!

Virtua Tennis is 1080p mate.

Ridge Racer is, I was actually looking at the back of all the covers in game today in anticipation for my 1080p arriving on monday. Didn't spot any others, Virtua Tennis defo wasn't.

TBH, I think at this stage of software development for the ps3 it really makes no difference if 720p/1080i or 1080p.

Of course you still need a full 1080p capable TV to be able to see any difference.

When you see 1080p thats what resolution the tv is recieving and displaying, when it changes to 720p it probably because the game is only in 720p
