New HDTV required bit in dark

My old sony 21" bog standerd TV has started going, it gets darker and darker until theres no picture, then when its black, all you get is sound, and the LED on the front flashes 5 times then stops and repeats. Im not going to get it repaired as i only paid ?100 18 months ago from ebay.

Anyway, im after a replacement TV.

I was just thinking, buy a tube TV from ebay again for ?100. But, to be honest, you dont get much for your money! So i thought about getting a new one.

I started thinking about an other tube, you can get some nice (looking!) sony widescreens, 28inch, for ?400. But i've seen some really nice LCD's for ?600. I would much rather have a LCD due to space, and most are now HDTV, which i would love to get, for the xbox360 and Sky HD when its out! (if!)

Can anyon 3890 e recommend any good resonablly priced LCD tvs? I have looked about on some onlnie shops, but you cant be real peoples advise!

Also, i take it with HD-Ready, i would need a decoding box to recive say BBC HD when its out? But things like Xbox360 and skyHD will work?

Thanks for reading the topic, hope someone can help me!
