Help with Zeroconf

I want to set up my wifes Mac Powerbook, running OSX Panther, to be ab 1f40 le to store files on her Dapper desktop box.

Both machines are conected to a router/modem with my machine & a Laserjet 5 printer. The printing & internet works fine on all machines.

I have looked at the page in the wiki called HowToZeroconf which seems simple enough... I would like more details though?

Samba is superceded by Zeroconf?

Do I still share folders, then call them with the Zeroconf address convention - hostname.local instead of an IP address?

What else do I need to know to reach my goal using Zeroconf?

If anyone can give me a link to step by step instructions I would be very grateful?
