Where can find step by step MySQL configuration guide
MySQL has some good tutorials on their site, but that will cover setting up a generic database. Whether a a beginner can easily translate it to setting up something else, I don't know.
A quick google indicates that there's several tutorials around for it--however, I don't know if any also cover the mysql setup.
