This post could be related to an Ubuntu bug filed at:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubu...e-general-user ----------------------------
As good as launchpad is the non geek will probably not seek it out, register their email and make their suggestions. The same is true of the ubuntu forums.
What I suggest to combat this and get data from real world users is a built in reporting form in ubuntu.
This would be only be triggered if the computer has internet access and after the user account is more than 3 months old.
How it would work.
This notification would appear a few minutes after log in sayin
1f40
g something like.
"You have been using Ubuntu for over 3 months now.
We would like to know what you think about it.
Click here if you would like to help improve ubuntu."
If the user wants to help, a form appears that feedback and suggestions can be entered into. This feedback could then be sent to developers, a website or cleverly formatted and posted to lauchpad. Where this information goes I haven't thought through fully. However, this information would be very important as it should show what the less geeky ubuntu users thought about the OS after a few months of usage.
What do people think about this?
