Conversion error

Hello I am trying to convert my 2.0 to 3.0 everything is going well until I get to Specify conversion options: area, the error is
The convertor was not able to find tables with the specified prefix. Please make sure you have the old within the same database as your phpBB 3.0.x installation. The default table prefix for phpBB 2.0.x is phpbb_

I am not sure what its asking for, I entered my old installation database name "phpbbtest" but keep getting the above error. Is it looking for some sort of path and the name?

Thanks in advance.

Probably the best suggestion, as there are no other topics about this, would be to post a bug report.

Conversion error

There is considerable difference between install, upgrade and conversion.

Install = taking the download and installing the files in a new folder and creating a new database.

Upgrade = already having beta 4 installed and upgrading that set of files and database to beta 5.

Conversion = already having beta 5 installed as either a new install or an upgrade (as above) and then converting a phpbb2 forum to a phpbb3 forum.

Hi
I am using phpBB-3.0.B5 version

Define "install"

I am doing a conversion or upgrade what ever you want to call it following the instructions that came with the zip download... You almost install it then click on the upgrade tab to finish the "install" or upgrade or conversion .

Yes that's right but make sure you use a different prefix like phpbb3_ or olympus_ so you can remember which is which.

For phpBB Olympus Beta versions, phpBB2 and phpBB3 must be installed in the same database. In the RC versions, you can have them installed in different directories.
