How to get parent of absolute positioning element

It sounds simple, but I could not find the right methode. Not offsetParent, and not parentElement, any idea?

Thanks!

How to get parent of absolute positioning element

You should be asking this in the js forum I think .

Also you already asked the question below and its bad manners not to reply to my answer and start a new thread with a similar question.

Didn't my previous answer satisfy you. The link on the ms site seemed to explain it all as far as I can tell. (But then js isn't my speciality - css is )
