IIS 5.0 and File System Object
Hi Guys,
I seem to have a bit of a problem.
I have used IIS 5.0 for a few months now, and have ran all of my .asp scripts and pages just fine.
I have created a new set of pages that use the "File System Object" and have had problems getting these pages to load.
They simply stall. I know it is not the code because they work fine on a remote server.
Can anyone shed some light on why these .asp pages that call the "File System Object" stall? I also have a problem with a .asp script that writes to the disk. It just stalls. I have set every permission I have found to "Full Access", but still no luck.

I will also add that after I try to call the page that has the FSO, and IIS stalls, I have to restart IIS before any other pages will load.
It is really a pain. Can anyone please help here?
I have even re-installed IIS.
Thanks

IIS 5.0 and File System Object
Hmm, I'm having the same problems as you but have been running File System Object operations on a specific set of web pages for a while. Since Christmas time, I have tried to work on them again and have the same problem - call a script which tried to load text using the File System Object causes the page (and the server) to stall. All resources which have been opened prior to the call remain open (for example - databases).
If anyone has any info on this I would also appreciate it! If I come across any solution in the mean time, evertheory, I will post back!

Have any web hosts had this problem?

IIS 5.0 and File System Object
I am also using XP Pro and was using the FSO without any problems on it before Christmas so it must be something that I have changed somewhere along the line!
I have not heard of any hosts having these problems but then I have not heard of any hosts running XP on their servers.
I guess it might be time to trawl the msdn site

A quick question, evertheory. Do you have a personal firewall installed?

Hi Pete,
I do have Zone Alarm and a hardware firewall installed.
I have disabled Zone Alarm and it still does not work.
