Guests see threads but site founder doesnt
I have created threads that I can see when I am not logged in but when I do log in I don't see any of the threads (except for the original one created automatically). As the founder do I have to set permissions for myself also?

Yes, you need to set permissions for everyone. Administrators no longer have every permission by default as they did in phpBB2.
