Inserting Widgets within Posts
I'd love to add some 'widgets' to posts, so that as soon as users open the topic, they are presented with little quizzes and video games to play, etc, right there in the post like embedded videos appear.
Is that possible? If not, is there any other way/resource to add games like this?

If you want the game directly in a post, then this could indeed be accomplished with BBCodes.However, since that would require modification to the code, the proper place to ask would be the MOD Requests forum. I suggest you start a new topic there and explain exactly what you want to do, and provide an example of a game that you would like to include.

I *am* trying to put the games directly in the post, just like the arcade games appear for users who get the Arcade MOD working properly. Since I struck out with that, I was hoping this would be easier, but it isn't looking so. I'd like the OP to contain a game and then people would play it right there in the OP and would reply with High Scores, etc.
Highway of Life seemed to understand and is the person who told me it could be done using BBCodes in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=46&t=632265&p=3809745 I realized that I was in the wrong forum and started the new thread, as he requested, here.

From what I understood, you're not looking to put games directly in posts, so BBCodes have nothing to do with it.
If you have existing games you would like to include and the code to include them, then it's just a matter of adding the code to the appropriate file. That doesn't seem to be the case though. In any case, this forum is for the support of the default phpBB2 software. This board is for questions relating in some way to phpBB. I suggest you try one of the MOD forums, but unless you can provide examples of what games you actually want to include, I'm not sure how anyone will be able to help.

We have one game forum where users love to go play games and currently link out to other sites, but would like to be able to just play inline. We also hold competitions from time to time where people will compete, post high scores, etc.
I tried to install the suggested MOD several times in the past year and can never get it to work. It is admittedly over my head, and I get very frustrated.
I originally asked this question in another thread and the respondent there said it could be done with BB codes and told me to start a new thread, so I am doing as he asked.
Thay are all objects or javascripts. Can I somehow just insert via HTML?

There's a new one. Why would you want to distract users with games? The point of a discussion board is to discuss topics. If users want an arcade, they're use an online arcade.
Anyway, anything is possible as long as you code it in. There is an arcade MOD for phpBB2, which will add games to the board. I'm sure you can find a way to add the games to viewtopic by looking at tutorials on that site. In any case, that would be the place to ask.
