Yes congrats, I quite fancy wildwebweavers.com myself but I would not have the time to run a webmaster site. Plus there are already too many around - including SitePoint

It might have been a better idea to let it sit and see if he lets it expire - for all you know he may have forgotten about it, but if he thinks people are interested in it, he may renew it and try to sell it.

I check the site info, he has less thatn a month to expire, he doesn't have a website and I emailed him to see if he isgoing to keep the name

Yes of course, CodingClick and CodingGuide can be used for ANY kind of coding - all kinds, some kinds, or just one kind. It doesn't matter - it fits them all.
webtutorials.com is taken - it's far too good to be available anyway.

How about the following expired domain names?
thewebdeva.com
uswebdev.com
extremewebdev.com
webdeveloperhq.com
webdevelopernet.com
webdevgurus.com
webdevshare.com
wildwebweavers.com
webweaves.com

I think CodingClick.com and CodingGuide.com are the best of that list. I'm not sure which I like more, both can be all-purpose coding sites. CodingClick is catchier.

Between 20-and-30 domains good for sites related to code/coding. I won't be reserving them all, so heck, here are a few you can try (no plans to grab these ones really):
CodeBoards.com
CodeTutorials.com
CodingGuide.com
CodingKey.com
CodingBoy.com
CodingClick.com
CodingPortal.com
Hope those help.

I'll be honest - I've got tons of domain names for coding on a "list" of mine, but I don't feel ready to give them away to the public right now. Sorry. Webmaster-Z.com sounds good to me, though.

Some general terms for those are...
- Programming
- Languages
- Webmaster
From there use a domain generator like any of the following...
http://www.nameboy.com
http://www.dngenerator.com
And use the terms. I'm sure you'll find a domain name that will suit your needs...

You can see that there were 326 views of this page (though some were repeat views surely), and that asking on a public board is a bit risky. Maybe next time ask that people email their suggestions to you, and then register the ones you like and then ask which one people like best.

I Like the name, but I wouldnt take it purely because it has double letters, codinGGuide.com Not a good combination by any standards. Unless you just took the other name to make sure you got all your traffic, i.e. codinguide.com as well as codingguide.com

I think you need to forget it and consider it a lesson learned.
I e-mailed you some variations on CodingGuide some of which I think are as good if not better as they are a bit shorter. I would also for the small cost register codingguide.net and point it to whatever you come up with.

Then your registrar forgot to put it there. The point remains that his submission got there first, and he's done nothing wrong.
You mis-phrased something - the registrar does not what you to "give your domain up to him" - he owns it, they're just telling you you didn't get it in time.
What this guy did was very sneaky, but not against any rules/laws.

just because you can log in at verio doesnt' mean that its your domain. that is just the hosting company. you should call up verio and explain your situation. sounds like you got screwed.

Verio isn't saying that the domain is yours anyway. They're just saying that you signed up with them to host that domain. The registration itself is completely different. I could sign up for an account with Verio under the Amazon.com name. When I logged into my account, it would list Amazon.com as the domain on my account, but just because it says that and Verio set up my account as if that domain was mine doesn't mean I own the domain. Nor would it mean that the domain was ever set to point to my Verio account.
When anyone registers for a domain, they are taking a risk that someone else has registered it first but the database hasn't been updated yet. It's the rule of the road. He who gets there first, gets the domain.
It's not Verio's fault that you registered the domain so soon after someone else registered the domain. It's not their fault that the database wasn't updated fast enough for them to block your attempted registration of the name.
No matter how you slice it, someone else beat you to the name. It's unfortunate for you that they did, but there's nothing you can do about it and they didn't break any rules by registering the name first.

CodingGuide.com is registered to "gokhanarli@hotmail.com" - sounds like this guy you mentioned. How can he register it at the same time? Only one person can own it, and it's him.
I don't see who is trying to get you to give him the domain, or why - he owns it. He must've beaten you to the punch.

Glad you like them Nate - consider that a small taste of DomainMailings.com.
WebmasterPit.com is good, but I believe Pete has already registered some names, so I think the choice is made. Good luck with your sites, Pete! Be sure to allow us to review them once you post them (in the Website Reviews forum).
