Has interlace driver bug been fixed yet
I'm trying to build a MythTV frontend, driving a PAL TV's Scart input from VGA (using the well known VGA to Scart circuit). Works great with an old Radeon 9000, but not so good with an FX5200 I've been experimenting with. If I use XV I see just one of the fields used for both top and bottom. That may not look too bad with 1080i, but it's hopeless with 576i. If I don't use XV, I can't keep up the frame rate.
I'm hoping this well known interlace bug is apparent only in the legacy drivers. If it's fixed in the latest drivers, I could use a motherboard with an integrated 7050PV, which AFAIK doesn't require legacy drivers. That's what I'd like to use for the system anyway, rather than the FX5200. But, I don't want to buy the motherboard just to find that the bug has never been fixed.
Anyone know?
I often see in MythTV forums: "I find the mythtv deinterlacers work better than my TV's", which I suspect means the bug is still present, and people aren't realising it's giving them problems.
