spurious detection of non identical modelines

I have an LCD display (DVI connector) on one video port of a Qudro FX 4600 and a stereo capable projector (VGA connector) on the other. In an xorg.conf file I define a modeline for a stereo projector:

Modeline "1280x1024_st" 108.00 1280 1328 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +HSync +Vsync

I was trying to use a different mode for the LCD display, but I got the error message in the log:

(WW) NVIDIA(0): Stereo is not available in TwinView when metamodes contain
(WW) NVIDIA(0): non-identical modelines.
(II) NVIDIA(0): Disabling stereo.

In desperation, I defined a metamode where this modeline is used for both the projector and the LCD display (I realize the LCD display won't handle this, that's ok). I checked the log to make sure this modeline is being used by both (it is), but I still get the same error message. I have the AllowDFPStereo option set to true.

Anybody know what is going on?

Or better yet, anyone know how to get stereo on working on the projector on one video port with the LCD display on the other in Twinview? I don't need stereo on both, just the projector. I have things working with Xinerama, but there seems to be a performance hit, hence the desire to get things working with Twinview.

Thanks,

-Larry
