WTS Athlon 64 system

I posted this a while back but the deal fell through, and its been sitting on my desk for a while so I should probably repost it
---

I built this PC a year ago, and then bought a Macbook Pro, which can run windows, so I no longer need my PC.

It Has -
Athlon 64 3200 Venice - Stock 2GHZ but overclocks to 2.5 stable or 2.7 if you run AC in the house and raise the voltage. This has an AMAZING HS/Fan on it, I paid like $50 for it alone, its a 92MM Thermalstake or something
1GB DDR500 RAM, this stuff was expensive but it runs nice and fast when I overclocked the CPU
Neo2Platinum motherboard, has AGP and all kinds of other goodies
250GB SATA Drive - Works great
Geforce 6800 - Softmods into a 6800GT if you want, otherwise its still an AMAZING card
DVD Burner AND a seperate CDR burner
Wireless USB adapter

The computer is VERY quiet, I modded the wires to give the fans less voltage so they run almost silent, but the system is still cooled well.

I will sell for $490 shipped to the 48 states, or $465 pickup in Rochester NY (if there is even anyone from rochester on this site looking at this add lol)

After building and struggling to sell two systems, I hate to tell you that you shouldnt expect $490 or anyhitng close to it. After oc'ing a chip, it decreases its value, warranty, etc. Also the components all together are worth arougd what youre selling it for, which is another point. Also, similar systemsfrom dell etc are available for similar price, and come with warranties and software. I would price this more around $365-$375

Uh, no it dosent void your warranty UNLESS you tell the manufacture that you oc'd it, which would be stupid. And how does it decrese its value?

I'm not to worried about selling it, I don't need the money its just kind of sitting around my room. I did check to see how much all the components would sell for, and it was more than $490, but I didn't want to hassle with selling the individual parts.

And overclocking doesn't decrease the value or hurt the chip at all, as long as you don't use to too much voltage or do anything too extreme.

Who wants a potentially ruined processor, or wants the risk of having it fail later don the road due to oc'ing. Also, in most cases( 2 of my own) I oc'd my athlon 3400+ only .4 ghz above standard, and after it overheated and died and I sent it into amd for a replacement, they evaluated and deemed it user caused. Any heat or dead problems you have with it, they will deem user related cause. Thants why. A perfect example of buying oc'd computers are all over hardforum.com. People selling things that were never oc'd obtain a higher price at market.

Which site did you spec it from? and most homebuilt pc goers arent experts on voltages, goign through confusing bios's and you cant trust 100% in soemone with no reputation for building pc's that nothing was will or would ever have gone wrong. Im not saying you, but oc'ing and tinkering in general.

Only people who know how to build a compy know how their bios works. BUT BACK ON TRACK! Would you be willing to part it out?

Well how can you trust that this person, who is not a profeessional, never made a mistake in voltages or multipliers, EVER? Or with any homebrew pc manufacturer. I rest my case.

I'm not sure what you mean by "spec" it from, but I bought most of the parts from newegg.com at the same time.

And I know lots of people can easily screw up computers by overclocking them. I've been over-clocking for many years with several CPU/GPU types, and I'm in college for microelectronic engineering (one of the only programs in the country with full chip fabrication capabilities), so I know a little bit about how that stuff works .

Anyway, if you guys want to talk about overclocking please make another thread about. If it sells, it sells, if it doesn't then I have an extra computer still

White and Nerdy, I'm considering this but its a pain to mail 5+ boxes and then some parts might not sell, so I'd be left with a few parts that I can't use. If I do I'll make another thread here and a few other places.

And if you need a reference to good transations my eBay account is jakeleveto and look here also http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=233695
