Intermec 6651 runs HPC 2000, which is a version of Windows CE 3.0
Am I doomed to 2.11 Wince? Is it possible to install Linux?
Yes. One person has even installed Windows 98 on it...although it's very very slow.
Is there any emulator Java?
Yes...but slow
What the program to search for wireless networks? (i have SpeedTouch 110 PC Card for Intermec)
I don't have my Intermec with me...I'll have it in 2 wks. But the sniffers out there only works with certain chipsets (again it's been too long since I've dabbled in this).
What is the network card to buy a stationary computer to be able to connect to it by a wireless network?
Current versions of Activesync does not support WiFi sync AFAIK. you'll need to downgrade to AS 3.9 or 4.0 IIRC. If you have to buy something...go with a wireless USB adapter.
How do I convert the movie to be able to watch it on Intermec?
Don't bother...it's very slow. Even at qvga it's unacceptible (I tried)
Is there any compatible Internet browser except Internet Explorer?
AFAIK: no. There IS a program called MultiIE which uses the IE engines and adds the function of tabbed browsing. There is a MIPS version too. It's not the fastest but it gets the job done.
There's also NetFront...but that's even slower IMHO
Is there a program to modify the appearance of the interface?
Not reliably. I tried this program in the past "pocketskin? I forget...it was relatively big back in its days) but it wasn't stable enough to be implemented consistently
Whether there are collections of programs for MIPS processors?
Yes
So after all the bad news...here's the
GOOD news. PocketPC programs built for Windows 3.0 CAN be modified to run on the Intermec, as long as they were compiled for the MIPS processor. I typed a very long instruction thing on here before BH changed hands...but the archives seems to have been destroyed. There were very useful dialogue between me and other users on what programs worked, what didn't, and how to modify things.
Try this link for now:
http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/f345...arm-61698.html The conversation is about an ARM device (Jornada), but the principles are the same.
I hope you're not squeemish about fiddling
