Obama claimed he read FDR but didn't do that much in his first 100 days. he better be thinking "what would FDR do?" then again during the great depression we actually had an american work force nowadays all those jobs are being shipped overseas, and to top it all off since 2001 we have lost 1/5 of the factory jobs in America and it's only going to get worse for the blue collar worker. we need another NEW DEAL hopefully obama will provide that if not he isn't getting my vote in 2012.

Really? I don't recall laughing every time Bush signed a spending bill. I don't recall laughing when he was trying to push through illegal immigrant amnesty. I don't recall laughing when he used TARP funds to bail out GM after Congress denied appropriations. And I especially don't recall laughing when Bush and a Democrat controlled Congress pushed through the initial TARP bill.

A lot of the conservatives on this forum stopped liking Bush relatively early in his presidency, it doesn't make them not supporters of the party they just didn't like everything he was doing. What I've noticed is the hard core democrats here will defend EVERYTHING Obama does. I mean hell right now there aren't a lot of good conservative candidates to do anything better or worse than Obama is doing, I think it would be safe to say no matter who was in power they'd be fucking up. But you can't just defend every decision he makes and when he does something unconstitutional it's your responsibility as an American citizen to be upset about it and do something no? Or is it to just go with everything your party does?

Rich people aren't spending money now because its not cool anymore, so it sits in banks. That's not helping inflation because no one thinks the money's worth anything more just because it's not out there.

You publicize an attack on rich ceo's spending a couple million dollars (when really the concern is over billions of dollars of money being lost in the market and in public confidence) and suddenly all the rich people are worried they are going to be considered "greedy" for spending their money when it should be the other way arround...

Sometimes I wounder if some of the higher ups in the media are anarchists or libertarians. I mean you can't be stupid enough to do that kind of thing on purpose...

Actually when money sits in the bank and doesn't circulate, that tends to decrease the effective money supply (deflation). The reason the Fed's balance sheet looks like this yet we are seeing very little inflation (actually we saw deflation the past two months) is because the Fed has "printed" all this extra money and given it to the banks, but the banks are not lending it in turn, so it does not ever reach the productive economy where it could appreciably affect prices.

We do have a fiat currency like most countries, but I think you misunderstand the role of "confidence" in the value of that money.
 

Can you point us to some threads where you and others criticized Bush on a similar level to how you bash Obama? No? Didn't think so.

No, you're right, I was not yelling and screaming about Bush because I know, as well as you know, that in our two party system, condemning the less of two evils will result in the election of the greater evil. Had I and others done what you think was right, we would have elected Kerry in '04. Your argument still has no legs. Simply because you did not hear our criticism does not mean we supported his decisions.

Find me a viable Conservative that doesn't try to shove religion down our collective throats and I will vote for him. Otherwise, you can continue to support Obama by voting for the 3rd party candidate on the right.
