No no this is not about D3 looking like warcraft or anything, it's about a custom map of the D3 gameplay video that someone made for warcraft 3.

Both the demo and the map looks strongly alike. It's a chance to try out this demo if you didn't go to blizzcon.
 

Gave the map a shot, really nicely done. I enjoyed it throughly. Tried it in single-player and really wanted to give the witch doctor a shot but couldn't pick.
 

The warcraft 3 map editor is unreal.I can't wait to see what people do with the SC2 one.
 

True, I bet that ums in SC2 will be even more popular than playing melee.

Meh. The terrain and stuff is epicly well down, but... The characters, skills, etc... are all really messed up.

They've like tried to force you into a party play -- the WD even has a Holy Light spell to heal himself/others (but not his minions). The monsters ramp up in difficulty really sharply -- the ranged ones are extremely difficult to deal with as a Barbarian.

The final boss, I wont give anything away, is impossible to defeat -- or would take so long to do so it would be pointless.

Monsters end up with, literally, like 14k+ HP which makes you're skills that deal 200 damage~ pretty freaking worthless.

It's not WoW darnit, it's supposed to be like Diablo.
 

Neo, it's only alpha. Of course it would be better if the abilities scaled better and weren't static numbers but meh I still have hope
 

Still. The very feel of the game seems to push party play. While it might work for War3, indeed, work for any online multiplayer map, it doesn't exactly stay true to Diablo.

While yeah, you're right that it does push team-play and skills become nigh-useless late game, there's still plenty of room to improve.

They should scale the monsters based on number of players though, that'll improve it heaps

Haha. I know it's an alpha, but still. They spent so much time on the terrain and atmosphere...

Their site indicates they're close to releasing a beta soon.
