A book
I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to make this post about, but just to see where it goes... I'm writing a book, or at least starting to. It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time and with some support from some people, I'm finally gonna do it. I am, however, hung up on a few things. In an effort to provide at least some form of a constructive post (or to try and hide my rambling) I'll give you some details I have on the story.
-First, the basic plot is essentially a love story. But I don't want it to be a "traditional" love story so to speak. Think 'Chasing Amy' except not turning a lesbian and not so much that the two involved don't get together at the end. What I have been wrestling with is that at the beginning they are broken up or break up and they get together at the end maybe or they don't even get back together at all, I'm really not sure right now
-I've got the names of the main characters picked out. I've known what a couple of them would be for a while now, since I first had the idea in the back of my head (circa 2004). In case you were wondering they are as follows.... Biscuit (a nickname I've had from some people since grade school), Socks (another nickname... I had it junior and senior year), Bryan, Laura, and Skylar. I'm not quite sure if the story should be circling around just these 5 or if I should spread it out a little bit with some secondary characters. Not exactly an integral part of the overall plot, but just so the 5 interact with people other than each other.
-I'm also not sure if I want to make this with a comedic feel, or dramatic. I'm pretty sure I could do both, but I'm not sure which way I should start out with, or if this is the only story I write ever, I don't know if I'd rather be considered (by family and friends or whomever else reads it) a funny guy, or a deep guy.
I suppose I'm making this post so I can bounce some ideas or something from y'all or to see what anyone has to say about it. Basically just anything you want to say in regards to the idea in general, whether it be good, bad, or what have you.
