How do you put up with the retarded release dates on most games? Like for example Tales of Vesperia (a game which was released last year in August) is just being released in Europe NEXT MONTH. What the fuck.

Is this common and is there an easy work around?

Piracy is the answer.

Most titles here come out at the same time, but mainly we just wait and we don't spoil our fun.

Yeah I just bought Tales of Vesperia for $7 and was looking it up and realized it wasn't even out in EU yet and I started crying a little. Well I didn't cry but I thought about crying.

No I didn't

d?

Thats a unknow title here, I didn't see any news about the game... so it's probably not worth it.

Maybe because they have to do a lot more different languages for ports over in Europe?

IIRC Spychi's Dead Space was in Polish, which isn't that hard to accomplish for a FPS but if you're doing an RPG a la fallout 3 with butt tons and butt tons of text, and you have to translate all of that into polska, I can see release dates getting pushed back.

All of my games are in english. Dead Space and Mass Effect I installed with subtitles but I don't even read them.
Also DS is a TPS not FPS.
Localizations are not the problem.

BTW you don't write or say "translate into polska" but "translate into polish language"... "Polska"=Poland - polski język=polish language

Either you pirate it or you import it from abroad. If it has rootkit DRM schemes like SecuROM that also won't allow you to play the game if you have virtual drives present on your system, piracy becomes optimal since people pay money to have that stuff removed from their system - not to install it.

Warez versions from trusted scene sources have all of that crap already removed so you don't have to worry about it. There are no online activations, no install limitations, and you simply get a better product than what the people who are paying money for it end up with.

It could also be a NTSC vs PAL vs SECAM thing.

DRM in EA is no more, they allow you to dl the de-drm tools and have a drm free media...btw I never complained about DRM
All of my installed games are legal... and I agree with some people that sometimes it's better to have a pirated version... steam games are the examples

The Tales series is possibly the most underrated series in all of gaming. It blows ANY Final Fantasy RPG out of the water, though they are a tad predictable. Don't say that again.

The only bad one was the 2nd Tales of Symphonia, but nobody cared for that one anyway.

Vesperia is a fantastic game with some epic boss battles. If you want, KP, I can give ya tips n tricks.

The European nations aren't the only nation to be full of bullshit, but the rest of the world as well. North American nations (Canada & US) are probably at the best position in the gaming world for consumers. While prices for games have increased steadily, they're generally cheaper and forgiving towards game ratings (see Australia for extreme bullshit) than having to fork over British pounds, Euros or Australian dollars for games. The prime disadvantage that I can think of is the time it takes for Japanese products to localize in North America, which happens to be bullshitting.

Indeed. To quote one of my idols and favourite musicians YtCracker, Why pay for things you get for free?
