AsusEEE Keyboard

It's actually a full computer running XP on an Atom N270 processor and 5-inch, 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display. D:

Clearly this is for folks who are desperately in love with their keyboards. Personally this seems like it might make a great keyboard periphreal. Such as for media PC setups or something.

Just thought it was cool :3

Yeah, this thing's pretty badass, really. No monitor necessary, though I have to say, using the screen for too long would likely drive me crazy. But hook this bitch up to some MyVu glasses, or something similar (portable, mini projector?), and GG.

I've also heard of similar devices being developed to incorporate the iPhone, sort of docking it in place of that proprietary screen on this model.

meh.

wish I could display video out on the iphone without having to go buy special apple cords.

a full-size keyboard for a five-inch screen? seems a little overboard (as Neo pointed out). why not have a blackberry-sized keyboard, and the same screen. then you have a whole computer that's ten times smaller than that.

it's cool though, electronics are getting smaller and more portable every day

You'll probably see that quickly Pizza. Then just blutooth all the accessories and you've got yourself a handy little gadget.

d?

Why would the screen be on the side? Isn't that retarded?

The screen should be a thin sheet that rolls up into the keyboard.

That way you could have a full-size display with no extra space.

the only significant advantage I can see over a proper laptop is having touchscreen, and given that touchscreen on a screen that large won't be anywhere near precise enough for a lot of things... I don't get it. Why have touchscreen AND a keyboard? That makes so little sense... and what you run Windows to do? I mean word processing on that size would be a bitch, and there's no way you're doing any graphical work on something that small.

What surprises me that nobody has mentioned is how you'd be looking over your right arm to see wtf you're even typing. Why not use the design of those old fat ergonomic keyboards, with the split in the middle housing that screen? That would seem a more natural layout.
