Non-Rank Changing edit 1: Changed Devil Rays to Rays and bolded the first line.
The team from Tampa Bay will always be the Devil Rays to me, just like in the NBA the team from DC will always be the Bullets I have somehow come to terms with Houston being the Texans and not the Oilers somehow.

Fixed the fact that my computer thinks C comes before B... o.O

Upcoming Changes: Sunday's Rank (Shows how far a team drops or gains during a week, will be shown in a gray), Division Colors (I will be coloring all of them teams in a division the average color of the RGB for that division's teams colors. For example AL East Unless someone has a better idea... keep in mind, that the colors would be for division sorting, not for fanciness's sake. A second idea was using 1337 speak for the color codes Al East NL East)

All teams are currently tied for 1st, as no real games have been played. :-P Once the season gets going the positions will start to move around based on victories and the strength of victories. It'll probably take 2-3 weeks for the numbers to stabilize, of course some teams are hot starters (think AZ last year) and some are hot finishers, so everything will be figured out. The most recent 10 games will be weight slightly heavier, but not so much that the rest of the season is insignificant.

The top 5 and Bottom 5 are just the alphabetical positioning of the teams, right now

CC Sabathia gave up six earned runs in four and a third innings today, and New York's shit bullpen (Other than Rivera) locked in a 10-5 win for Bmore. Wonder how the Yankees feel about that 210 mil right about now.

Anyways the Red Sox have the deepest pitching of any team in major league history maybe, the reigning AL MVP, and with their absurd amount of minor league prospects are a trade away from a big middle of the order bat if they need one. Cue the motherfucking duckboats.

CC Sabathia was 0-6 last April, The Yankees are probably a little panicky, but not too much.

And the Red Sox dont even have the deepest pitching in recent memory. Who can compare to the Astros Two Steroids users and the Wizard a few years back. Meanwhile the Red Sox have several overrated players then Dice-k.

"Deepest pitching" and "Best aces" are completely different statements, but I'll keep the vague generalities in mind.

Well, I'm happy to say the Braves took it to Philly in their 3 game set. I'm more than fine with them taking 2 of 3 from the reigning champs. And even more so that we dominated them in the first 2 games. We were working with a 7 run lead this afternoon, but then our bullpen collapsed at the Phills put up an 8-run 7th and I cried, however, we still scored 11 tuns against them as well so I'll take a 1-run loss.

Also McCann and our rookie center fielder Jordan Schafer are looking sharp so far... aside from Scahfer out in center. He's still got some stuff to work on, but that will come with experience. Chipper is doing good so far along with the rest of our infield. Escobar and Johnson are good up the middle and an outfield of Garret Anderson/Diaz, Schafer, and Francoeur is looking pretty good.

Our bullpen looks kind of shady at the moment. Lowe and Jurrjens are doing good. Especially Derek Lowe with that opening day 8 I.P. with 2 hits 0 runs 0 walks and 4 k's. I'll take the performance any day of the week.

So all in all I think the Braves have a shot to take the NL East this year (only saying that based off the first series of the season, I didn't pay much attention to the others in the NL East during the spring) or at least have a shot at taking the wild card in the National League this year.

Since apparently this is turning into our MLB Discussion thread, I suppose I'll interject about the Tigers a bit. Their opening to the season was a pretty pathetic 1-3 series at Toronto. There are a couple of positive signs though that came out of that series. First off, Cabrera is hitting the ball really well to start and Inge and Granderson are also off to decent starts hitting. In addition, Edwin Jackson's start in the second game was dynamite and today we had a great pitching outing from our young rookie Rick Porcello who did a great job in 5 1/3 giving up only 3 runs on a couple of mistakes.

Naturally the opening series really confirmed the concerns a lot of Detroit fans had coming in about their bullpen. Brandon Lyon blows the second game better than anyone and today Rincon comes in and does a horrible job giving up three runs as well. Ironically Nate Robertson has looked good coming out of the bullpen despite his one run gave up today.

We'll know a lot more after they play the Rangers and the White Sox back here at the Copa.

I am still not convinced the Braves are going to take the East. I think we have transitioned in to a new era where teams don't take their division every year. Case in Point, The Braves and The Yankees last year. We'll probably see the Mets and Red Sox win those divisions.

I don't like the Rays. I don't like the bandwagon. Theyre still a fairly young team (leaving 40 y/o Percival out of this). Its like the Rockies, they were good for 1 year, then the next they dropped 15.5 games. Then you have to remember the East is ridiculously strong, where a 90 win season will still, probably not be good enough. I can see them winning 90 and losing the East.

Winning a series @ Boston is impressive, but the season is still very young.

The Braves haven't won the East since '06. Mets and Phillies both won it since. Florida might take it this year, But I think the Braves might have a shot
