Do you have any weird superstitions when watching not watching your team

For instance, I will only watch the Leafs play if I'm wearing something with a Leaf logo on it (once had to resort to leafs boxers I bought for 3 dollars because I was in another city) Where as if I'm not watching them I will not wear anything Leaf related so I don't jinx them.

Likewise with the Flames I know if I'm watching they will lose so I don't watch in games I want them to win and I always tune into Flames/Leafs games so they'll lose.

Odd but true. Also I try and check the scores on Jays games because it seems they win more when I have an interest.

Now I know all of these things aren't possible or true but I also know I'm not the only weird sports fans. Anyone else?

Also fun fact when I scream at my TV how shitty Eli Manning is the Giants do better.

To be honest with you, I almost feel as if I'm a bit of a jinx to a large number of the teams that I root for, outside of the Red Wings. lol. It also especially seems that if I grow to really like a player and rave about them at all, the next time I'll see them, they'll perform horribly. Case in point. I went to the Tigers-Yankees game last Tuesday. I got to see what I thought were the Tigers two best additions in the offseason in Edwin Jackson and Anderson. Jackson pitches a brilliant game for 6 innings. I liked Anderson because he brought speed and some smarts to the field. So what does he do while I'm talking to FBS about him? He pops out to third. He grounds out with the bases loaded with 2 out in a 0-0 game and then commits the error that starts a 10 run inning for the Yankees.

I do think FBS is the primary issue, but a few years back too I took him to an EMU Football game where we had a finalist for the Groza the year before.(Best kicker in America). Eastern's down by a touchdown against Miami(Ohio) and they score to make it a 1 point game with 4 seconds left. I remember watching the band move over to the home side of the stadium and everyone was expecting the game to go to overtime. Instead his extra point goes wide right and bonks off the goal post and straight down, so EMU loses by a point. FBS claims it's the best football game he's ever been to. Naturally, he would because he loves watching me suffer.

Honestly though, I can't say I have any really strange superstitions. I do try the "wear the same shirt" idea if they won the last time I wore it. But honestly, I can't say that I am really that superstitious, except for I do remember that the year the Pistons won the championship, they lost every single game I was at work and won every game except for one when I wasn't. The Red Wings did the same thing a few years back too.

Although if you really think about it, all of these are just so coincidental.

So what's the point of this post? I guess I hate FatBoySr. lol.

I kinda feel like whenever I watch the redwings, they win, and whenever I don't, they lose. The tigers win most of the time while I'm watching, and when I am personally there at the stadium, I have never seen them lose, on 6 different occasions at 2 different ball parks, and completely different teams.

Thats about it though, I sometimes where a tigers/redwings shirt because I feel it will give my team good luck, but thats only an occasional thing...

It's not so much a superstition as my disgust. I can't watch my teams get blown out. Even if I don't like them, and I'm only cheering against the Celtics. I can't watch that.

The last time I took my hat off during a game, 2005, Clemens had just given up a homerun so I ripped off my hat and threw it at the tv. The Astros ended up losing that game and the three following. It was the world series, quite a frustrating experience.

I have to watch a favorite team, because they know if I'm watching or not, and if I don't, they lose

You have time to watch between video games?

You have time to watch between being whipped by your wife and being a little pussy?

To much?

EDIT: So I don't get an infraction... Yeah, but I only watch American football, and for that matter the Packers only. So it's not to much time wasted

If you really want me too, I am more than happy to oblige. After all, it was blatant flame bait and provided absolutely no benefit to the thread, until your edit at least explained something related to the world of sports.

Wow, the day that people want infractions. No wonder most of you don't leave CC.

He knows I'm joking, we rank on eachother as such all the time over XBL. I would be surprised beyond all measure if he took that with any bit of seriousness.

I apologize for not letting you know the relationship between us before the "flame" post, and I did think about the repercussions, as to not entierly ruin the discussion.

So to sum up, yeah. If paintball was on TV, I'd watch that more, but I can never catch it on any of the ESPN channels... It's a shame, really.

I'm like the way I think good referees should be. I stay out of the way and only call the stuff that is blatantly obvious and deserving, so I don't take control of the game out of the hands of the players.

I used to be part of a league it's just too costly. We were actually pretty good I won an ATV out of it.

And @ SD I don't know who B2H is or why he's insulting my girlfriend I'd suggest permabanning him.
