Ever since I installed chrome, I've been happy with it, except for one problem. Tabbed browsing. What happens is, when I maximize my window, the tab bar vanishes. The only way I can cycle through tabs is by using Ctrl+1 Ctrl+2 etc. Or when I reduce the window size, i.e. the button between minimize and close on the far top right (horrible noob language but w/e).
So I've re-installed chrome twice and nothing helps. Though this one miraculous occurrence I feel I must narrate. I opened chrome one day and voilah! It had turned blue and tabs were visible in maximised and small windows! But behold, it vanished in no less than an hour.

What must I do? Many a time have I pestered the good folk at Google to fix this problem. I even know someone who works in google but strangely enough when I mentioned this tabbed browser problem to him on the phone, the conversation changed! It happens everytime!

Anyone help? It'd be a great boon to have good tabbed browsing on Chrome.

Is the computer plugged in?

That black bar makes me think it's an issue with your desktop theme. Just for shits and giggles try switching to classic view for awhile.

Yes, my laptops running an alienware theme. I could switch back to classic vista. I'll give it a shot when I'm in office tomorrow. I'm too lazy to do it now. Don't get mad. I'll post here as soon as I do so. I appreciate your logic and help.

Seems like your skin is interfering with Chrome's behavior. Remove it.

I have to go with Pizza here, I really didn't like Chrome enough to keep using it. What's keeping you interested?
 

I use Chrome for all my regular browsing, and Firefox for any specific browsing in which I need it. Chrome is just faster and less resource intensive.

Ok, I changed my windows theme and it worked just fine.

For some silly reason I thought you were AJ. But then again, warboards was such a long time ago, I've really forgotten a lot of stuff.
Well, I seem to find streaming and general surfing a lot faster on Chrome. Plus you can't really go wrong with incognito mode to surf adult material aka pr0n
 

Because it's low clutter, doesn't crash randomly, is compliant, and when i click the damn icon it opens right away.

As an end user, I could care less about other crap.
 

chrome doesn't have adblock, therefore is pointless to me. no add-ons are a major turn off. That and the random crashes and shit are annoying.

If you want a webkit-based browser, just use Safari, honestly.

But I didn't like safari at all. Firefox has always done it for me cause of the fact that it has very nice add-ons.
And referring to your post, chrome has never crashed on me. Ever. Just saying...
 

Just an FYI: Webkit runs both Safari and Chrome. Safari 4 is actually really decent now (the latest version).

The speed you like in Chrome is webkit -- not chrome itself. I'm also a little weary about Google collecting surfing habits from me.
